Recently, THACO Plastic Components Factory coordinated with the Safety Management Department and the THACO INDUSTRIES Medical Department to organize a drill on fire and explosion response and rescue plans.
The drill was attended by nearly 300 employees, aiming to raise awareness and coordination ability, and proactively handle situations for employees when a fire or explosion occurs.
The hypothetical situation is that a fire broke out at the Paint Workshop of THACO Plastic Components Factory due to violations of fire and explosion prevention regulations. At the time of the incident, there were 275 employees working in the workshop who needed guidance to escape, 01 employee was trapped in the paint warehouse, 01 employee was burned, 02 employees were suffocated by the gas generated during the fire. The fire could spread to surrounding areas and emit many toxic gases that are dangerous.
As soon as the incident occurred, relevant units coordinated to practice operating the mechanism (alarm; telephone call, information report; mobilize forces and vehicles to the scene) and practice responding according to the following steps: cut off the power, lock the main gas valve; guide the escape and provide first aid to victims; determine the development and nature of the fire to deploy appropriate handling plans; use tanks, pumps, water pipes and fire trucks; bring supplies and goods to a safe area.
Previously, THACO Plastic Components Factory also organized a theoretical class with the following contents: causes and measures to prevent fire incidents; instructions on the use of fire prevention and fighting equipment and means; fire and explosion response drill plan... thereby improving knowledge and skills in preventing and responding to emergency situations for employees before the drill.
The drill helps forces consolidate, supplement and improve knowledge and experience in responding to fire and explosion incidents, contributing to ensuring safety for workers, protecting property and stabilizing production and business, especially during the hot season.
