On April 11, Vietnamese Ambassador to the Russian Federation Dang Minh Khoi met with Mr. Mikhail Shvydkoy, Special Envoy of the Russian President on International Cultural Cooperation, to discuss and promote cultural cooperation between Vietnam and the Russian Federation.

Speaking at the meeting, Ambassador Dang Minh Khoi proposed a number of contents to promote cultural relations between the two countries, including Mr. Shvydkoy's initiative to organize a cross-year of science and technology between the two countries.
Ambassador Dang Minh Khoi informed about the plan to organize Vietnam Cultural Week in Saint Petersburg and Moscow of the Russian Federation this year.
Regarding tourism cooperation, the Ambassador expressed his hope that more Russian tourists would visit Vietnam. The Ambassador proposed that Russian airline Aeroflot open more direct flights to Hanoi; at the same time, the Russian Federation exempts visas for Vietnamese tourists coming to the Russian Federation in groups to promote tourism exchanges.

Mr. Mikhail Shvydkoy expressed his support and agreement with the Ambassador's proposals to promote cooperation, including the need to further promote cooperation potential in the fields of culture, science and education.
Mr. Mikhail Shvydkoy was pleased with the growing relationship between the two countries, and emphasized that Russia and Vietnam have a long-standing historical relationship and need to continue promoting cooperation and cultural exchange in the coming time.
