On April 23, the workshop on expanding the agricultural and food market in ASEAN of Guangyuan City (China) was opened in Hanoi. The program was co-organized by the Vietnam Association of Foreign Investment Enterprises, the Association for the Promotion of Foreign Trade Development of Sichuan Province Industrial Zone Enterprises and the Bureau of Commerce of Guangyuan City (China).
The event was attended by representatives of trade management agencies, Vietnamese distributors and typical agricultural enterprises from Guangyuan City, Sichuan Province, China.
At the workshop, Vice President of the Vietnam Association of Foreign Investment Enterprises Nguyen Van Toan emphasized that the two sides are facing a golden opportunity to connect supply chains and take advantage of complementary advantages in production, processing and export of agricultural products.
Accordingly, Vietnam possesses many advantages in terms of tropical climate, abundant land resources, young workforce and diverse agricultural ecosystem. Meanwhile, Sichuan province is the birthplace of famous Chinese agricultural brands that are developing strongly. Sichuan is also a locality with many world cultural and natural heritages, and is striving to become a center of innovation in Chinese agriculture.

According to him, the two sides have a golden opportunity to connect supply chains, invest in production, processing and bilateral export. Enterprises can make the most of the complementary advantages of Vietnam and Sichuan, including Guangyuan City.
At the workshop, Mr. Hung Pham - General Secretary of the Association for Promotion of Foreign Trade Development of Sichuan Province Industrial Zone Enterprises - added: "In Sichuan Province, Quang Nguyen City is considered an important agricultural production center. This area is famous for its richness and diversity of high-quality agricultural products and many typical food specialties".

Mr. Hung Pham emphasized that this event is an important effort to integrate resources and seize new cooperation opportunities between China and Vietnam. He hopes that the event will become a platform for extensive exchanges, helping businesses from both sides establish friendly and mutually beneficial cooperation. At the same time, it will promote the exchange of agricultural products, contributing to improving the quality of meals and the lives of people in the two countries.
The Secretary General of the Sichuan Provincial Industrial Zone Enterprise Foreign Trade Promotion Association expressed his belief that the cooperation prospects between Guangyuan City and Vietnamese enterprises in the field of agricultural products and food are very broad and will achieve even better results.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Tuan Ngoc - Director of the Center for E-commerce Development (Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam) - said that China is currently importing many agricultural products from Vietnam, and also bringing many agricultural products to Vietnam. These products are popular with Vietnamese consumers.

According to Mr. Nguyen Tuan Ngoc, Vietnam and China are both countries with developed agriculture, so the potential for cooperation in this field is huge. Increasing the exchange of agricultural techniques and technology between businesses of the two countries will bring practical benefits to both sides.
At the program, businesses from both countries exchanged and expressed their desire to build sustainable cooperative relationships in the fields of production, processing and export of agricultural and food products, towards developing a sustainable and mutually beneficial ASEAN market.
