On the morning of November 1, the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council held a session to explain the management of clean water production and business activities, including urban clean water and rural clean water in the province.

The report of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development at the explanation session showed that, up to now, the whole province has 561 centralized rural water supply works built, of which 492 self-flowing works are located in mountainous areas, accounting for 87.7%; 69 pump-driven works, accounting for 12.2%, concentrated in the plains and midlands.

With a total designed capacity of about 80,000 m3/day and night, providing domestic water for about 115,000 households in 160 communes/total of 411 communes. Regarding urban clean water production and trading activities, currently the whole province has 7 units directly operating, basically meeting the demand for use.

According to the leaders of the Department of Construction, Department of Planning and Investment, Department of Finance... the biggest problem currently related to urban clean water business and production is that it is not subject to separate planning for technical infrastructure. In addition, the water supply pipeline system in urban areas in Nghe An province has been equitized, under the management and ownership of Enterprises, so it is difficult for the State to intervene in investing in technology renovation and expanding the water supply system in the area.

Comrade Ho Viet Dung - Deputy Director of the Department of Planning and Investment explained and clarified the contents at the explanation session.

At the conference, a number of issues related to selling prices, management, use, exploitation, and planning to expand the clean water supply system to provide for people and serve production in industrial parks and clusters were explained by the leaders of the Provincial People's Committee and related sectors and units within their authority.

Concluding the explanation session, the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council proposed 8 issues to the Provincial People's Committee. Focusing on reviewing the system of documents related to shortcomings in provincial planning, regional and district planning and clean water prices. Reviewing the management, use and exploitation of clean water infrastructure assets; documents on developing new investment plans, upgrading and repairing clean water supply works according to programs and plans approved by competent authorities. At the same time, directing relevant departments, branches and units to inspect the preparation, approval and implementation of water supply plans between localities and water supply units in accordance with regulations. The Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council proposed the Provincial People's Committee to direct relevant branches to pay more attention to allocating resources, innovating water supply models, as well as applying technology to respond to and handle incidents, reduce loss rates, prevent revenue loss, ensure clean and safe water sources for people to use and serve production in the province./.
