Goodbye grandparents, I'm leaving for the army.

Due to family troubles, Nguyen Quan Bao, born in 2005, in Hamlet 6, Hoi Son Commune, Anh Son District, Nghe An Province, became an orphan at an early age. In the loving arms of his grandparents, Bao was raised to be healthy and virtuous. During the 2025 military recruitment, the young man from the mountainous commune volunteered to go on a journey to fulfill his sacred duty to the Fatherland.

When asked about the purely agricultural land of Hoi Son commune (Anh Son district, Nghe An province ), local government representatives and most of the people understood very well the situation of young man Nguyen Quan Bao and were even more moved and admired when they learned that he had volunteered to join the army.

In the first days of the year, representatives of local authorities, organizations, and neighbors all came to the house of Mr. Nguyen Anh Quyet, 76 years old (Bao's grandfather) to give gifts and encourage him to have a healthy journey and complete his assigned tasks well.

In the story, comrade Nguyen Anh Tuan, Commander of the Military Command of Hoi Son Commune, said: “In the process of deploying tasks in the locality, we clearly understand the circumstances of young people of military service age. Among them, Nguyen Quan Bao, who suffered many disadvantages when he lost both his parents at an early age, was loved and raised by his grandparents. We were very moved when Bao wrote an application to volunteer for military service, and during the procedure, he met all the conditions to go on the journey to fulfill his sacred duty to the country.”

Representatives of the local government of Hoi Son commune presented gifts and encouraged Nguyen Quan Bao (standing in the middle) and local young men preparing to leave for military service.

It is known that in 2024, Bao graduated from high school, then worked as a factory worker and had a stable income to support his grandparents. But then, the young man returned to his hometown, with the desire to go to perform military service.

In the days before joining the army, Bao just stayed at home, chatted, and helped his grandparents with chores. Mr. Nguyen Anh Quyet knew that Bao was very worried about his family, but he always encouraged his grandson to feel secure when he joined the army.

“Bao suffered from emotional deprivation early on, but we loved and cared for him to grow up and cultivate good morals. A few months ago, when he shared his intention to volunteer to join the army, so that after completing his military service, he would return to learn a trade, find a job with a stable income to take care of his grandparents, I was very touched. I also made it clear to him that military service is a sacred responsibility of youth to the country, so I encouraged Bao to complete the necessary procedures to leave,” Mr. Quyet affirmed.

Representatives of local organizations and relatives encouraged Nguyen Quan Bao to confidently set out to carry out his mission.

Perhaps having learned and been aware of the regulations in the military environment, before joining the army, Nguyen Quan Bao had his hair cut neatly and prepared everything carefully. When wearing the military uniform, Bao looked more mature and steady.

When asked, the young man shared: “I thought a lot before writing the application to volunteer for military service, because I was worried that it would be very difficult when my grandparents were sick. But after talking and having him analyze everything, I felt more secure to set out to fulfill the sacred duty of youth to the country. After completing my military service, I hope to learn a trade, have a stable job to develop myself, and take care of my grandparents when they are old.”
