Taekwondo was founded by the late martial artist Nguyen Cong Vinh (born in 1936, passed away in 2019) - the first teacher to bring Taekwondo to La Gi town. Mr. Vinh made great contributions to the development of Taekwondo in Ham Tan district (old) and La Gi town as it is today. In 1988, Taekwondo was taught by the late teacher Nguyen Cong Vinh at home. In this class, there was a student who was passionate about Taekwondo, Mr. Pham Van Nhan.
