In recent days, the case of a coach of a taekwondo club in Da Nang City being accused of beating a martial artist has caused a stir in public opinion. Up to now, the authorities have not yet made an official conclusion on the incident. However, this is a warning not only for coach Nguyen Van Kin (director of the Seung Ri taekwondo club), but also for the entire Vietnamese taekwondo community.

Speaking to Thanh Nien , Vice President and General Secretary of the Vietnam Taekwondo Federation (VTF) Nguyen Thanh Huy said: "From the recent incident related to the act of "child abuse", we have learned a profound lesson that maintaining professional ethics and complying with regulations is an indispensable foundation for building a safe, humane and sustainable taekwondo training environment. For coach Nguyen Van Kin, this is not only an opportunity to review personal responsibility but also an opportunity to take specific corrective actions to regain the trust of the community."

Seung Ri Club (Khue Trung Ward, Da Nang City) is being suspended.

"The tasks that need to be done immediately after receiving the conclusion from the authorities are to complete the legal operating license; complete the conditions to ensure the club's operations; show a good attitude and commit to correcting mistakes," Mr. Huy added.

Complete the legal operating license: Register to participate in establishing a martial arts and sports club operating under the management of the Center for Culture, Sports and Community Learning of Khue Trung Ward to be clearly recognized legally. It is necessary to prepare documents according to the instructions of Circular No. 18 of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, including the establishment decision, list of management board, list of members, training location, operating regulations. Or register a business in the form of an individual business household or a sports business enterprise, ensuring all procedures are in accordance with regulations.

Coach has a chance to correct mistakes

Complete the conditions to ensure the operation of the club: Review and improve factors such as the team of coaches, assistant coaches, facilities, on-site medical care, and training programs. Commit to comply with the content and training program of the Vietnam Taekwondo Federation (VTF). Ensure not to cause disorder and security in the locality, and comply with regulations on environmental sanitation, fire prevention and fighting, and safety for students.

Attitude of improvement and commitment to correct mistakes: Sincerely accept responsibility and publicly apologize to relevant parties, especially students and parents affected by the incident. Commit to correcting any shortcomings that have occurred, taking specific actions to ensure that they do not recur. Proactively contact the Da Nang Taekwondo Federation for support, guidance and companionship in improving club activities.

The Vice President and General Secretary of VTF expressed: "Change and recovery are completely possible if we take remedial measures with a spirit of learning and high responsibility. The Federation is committed to accompanying and supporting the Club and Coach Kin to overcome difficulties and continue to contribute positively to the development of the Vietnamese taekwondo movement. We believe that, with will and determination, past mistakes will become the driving force to reach new successes, towards building a civilized, sustainable and humane taekwondo community."
