The news that a student was suspended from school because his parents had questions about the curriculum has attracted public attention. Sharing about the incident, a representative of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training said that the unit had grasped the above content and had given instructions to the school.
Accordingly, after investigating and verifying the incident, the Department of Education and Training requested the Principal of Ngo Quyen High School - Dong Anh to be responsible for arranging and assigning students to classes in accordance with regulations. The arrangement and re-arrangement of students into classes will only be carried out with the consensus of all students, parents of students in the class and with the agreement of teachers in the school's pedagogical council.
The Department of Education and Training requires Ngo Quyen High School - Dong Anh to strictly implement the disclosure of information about the school in accordance with the provisions of Circular 09/2024/TT-BGDDT dated June 3, 2024 of the Ministry of Education and Training regulating disclosure in the activities of educational institutions in the national education system.
Public information as prescribed includes: general information about educational institutions; financial revenues and expenditures; conditions for ensuring the quality of general education activities; plans and results of general education activities.
Along with that, the Department requires the school to strictly implement regulations of the education sector, ensure the rights and legitimate aspirations of the school's students; and report the implementation results to the Hanoi Department of Education and Training.
Previously, Ngo Quyen High School - Dong Anh decided to "stop training" NH - a 12th grade student of the school with the reason: "The school does not have enough conditions to meet the training needs according to the request of the student's parents. The time to stop training starts from August 10".
NH’s parents said that before receiving the above decision, the family had no intention of transferring their child to another school. The school’s sudden decision to “stop training” right before the new school year, especially before the student was about to enter grade 12, had a huge impact on his child’s psychology.
The reason for the above decision is that in the 2024-2025 school year, Ngo Quyen High School - Dong Anh has a plan to switch to a high-quality training model. NH's parents, representing some parents in the class, still had questions about this issue, so they made an appointment to meet with the school leaders to discuss. After the meeting, because there was no common voice, the school suggested that NH's parents transfer their child to another school. On August 10, his family received the decision stating that his child was "discontinued from training" by the school.
It is known that Ngo Quyen High School - Dong Anh is a non-public school, established in 2007, located in Dong Anh district, Hanoi.
