The conflict between the Miss Grand International Organization (MGI) and Miss Grand Cambodia broke out on the evening of October 6, surprising many viewers. Just a few days after the competition, Miss Grand International 2024 in Cambodia encountered trouble when both sides simultaneously issued announcements indicating a breakdown in cooperation.

Returning from Cambodia, on the evening of October 7, Mr. Nawat - President of Miss Grand International - livestreamed criticizing the problems in organizing the contest in Cambodia, causing the event to be moved to Thailand.

Mr. Nawat shared that since arriving in Cambodia, he felt uneasy because there was no local staff to welcome the MGI delegation or the contestants. On the day of the sash presentation, the plan to organize the red carpet and Lamborghini was not as expected, he had to urge himself to have a backdrop for the contestants to take pictures. During the welcoming ceremony, although it was announced that 400 fans and important guests would attend, only about 40 people attended and the important guests did not arrive on time. At the gala dinner, the folk dance was canceled because the dance group arrived late and was not prepared.

Mr. Nawat also said that the airfare back to Thailand for the contestants is about 1 million baht (more than 740 million VND), the hotel fee is about 200,000 baht (nearly 150 million VND), all paid by MGI but he accepted to protect the reputation and prestige of the Miss Grand International brand.

After arriving in Thailand on the evening of October 7 from Cambodia, today the contestants will tour the capital city of Bangkok. They will visit Wat Arun, one of Thailand's most famous temples, and experience shopping at the Icon Siam shopping mall.
