Conference to deploy the National Assembly's 2024 Supervision Program is coming soon

On the evening of November 7, at the National Assembly House, Politburo member and National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue chaired a meeting with agencies to review preparations for the conference to deploy the National Assembly's and the National Assembly Standing Committee's Supervision Program in 2024.

Also attending were Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Do Van Chien and members of the Party Central Committee: Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Khac Dinh; Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Duc Hai; Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, Senior Lieutenant General Tran Quang Phuong; Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang; Secretary General of the National Assembly, Chairman of the National Assembly Office Bui Van Cuong, and members of the National Assembly Standing Committee.

Reporting at the meeting, Secretary General of the National Assembly, Head of the Office of the National Assembly Bui Van Cuong stated that, implementing the direction of the Chairman of the National Assembly, in order to fully serve the Conference on implementing the National Assembly's Supervision Program, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly in 2024, implementing Plan No. 641/KH-UBTVQH15 dated October 3, 2023 of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly on organizing the Conference, the Secretary General of the National Assembly and the Office of the National Assembly have directed urgent preparation of both content and conditions.

Accordingly, the Conference is expected to hear a report assessing the implementation results of the National Assembly's and the National Assembly Standing Committee's Supervision Program in 2023 and solutions to effectively implement the Supervision Program in 2024; Detailed supervision plan of 4 thematic supervision delegations of the National Assembly and the National Assembly Standing Committee in 2024; discussion reports of relevant agencies...

The conference will be held this November via live broadcast at the National Assembly House, with the participation of about 250 delegates and online connection with 62 provinces and cities nationwide.

At the meeting, delegates emphasized the importance of organizing the National Conference to deploy the supervision program of the National Assembly and the National Assembly Standing Committee in 2024. This is the second time the National Conference on supervision activities of the National Assembly and the National Assembly Standing Committee has been organized, demonstrating the methodical implementation of the National Assembly's supervision activities and bringing about practical results, contributing to improving the quality, efficiency and effectiveness of supervision of the National Assembly and the National Assembly Standing Committee.

The National Assembly Chairman requested the Secretary General of the National Assembly and the Head of the National Assembly Office to fully absorb the opinions and carefully prepare for the organization of the conference; at the same time, he expressed his agreement with the opinions expressed on the content and organization of the conference. Accordingly, the conference should have a part to review the results of the implementation of the National Assembly's and the National Assembly Standing Committee's Supervision Program in 2023, thereby drawing lessons for more effective implementation in 2024.

National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue paid special attention to the coordination of monitoring activities and the synthesis and evaluation of results for each monitoring topic. The National Assembly Chairman also requested the Nationalities Council and the National Assembly Committees to strengthen supervision of specific cases to promptly promote effectiveness, from the supervision of specific cases will arise major issues. Agreeing with the opinion of Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Do Van Chien, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue emphasized that the thematic and supreme supervision delegations should ask the Vietnam Fatherland Front to participate in criticizing the supervision contents to resonate and create more "weight" for the reports of the supervision delegations.
