In the past, the province has organized Covid-19 vaccination campaigns or periodically on Wednesdays and Sundays every week. According to the health sector, vaccination facilities are now proficient in Covid-19 vaccination practices. Proficient in injection procedures
After the Covid-19 epidemic was controlled, Binh Duong has a policy of both preventing and fighting the epidemic and promoting socio-economic development. In order for the grassroots health system to not only be a place to receive and handle initial medical examination and treatment but also a place to effectively implement the Covid-19 vaccination campaign, the health sector has a policy of training and implementing Covid-19 vaccination for the health stations of communes, wards and towns.
To conduct a safe Covid-19 vaccination session, medical staff must strictly follow the procedures. Talking about the Covid-19 vaccination process, Dr. Nguyen Thi Tuyet Sen, Head of the Binh Thang Ward Health Station, Di An City, said: “Before vaccination, doctors and nurses need to screen and advise the vaccination subjects, and inform them about the type of vaccine to be injected. During the injection process, doctors and nurses need to check the vaccine, solvent, syringe, and needle before use; let the vaccination subject or the child's parents or guardians see the vaccine bottle before injection, and perform the injection according to the correct indication, dose, and time. After the injection, doctors and nurses must monitor post-injection reactions. This step is very important, it can detect symptoms of anaphylactic shock after injection and at the end, the doctor will instruct the patient to continue monitoring at home.”
Meanwhile, at the Hung Hoa Commune Health Station, Bau Bang District, the implementation of vaccination safety regulations as well as the arrangement of subjects for vaccination are always ensured. Families bringing their children for vaccination are all scheduled for a time, there is no phenomenon of large gatherings at one time. All vaccination rooms are arranged to be airy. The waiting area before vaccination, screening examination, consultation, and post-vaccination health monitoring are always cleaned and regularly disinfected by medical staff. In addition, the station also arranges enough water, soap, and hand sanitizer in convenient locations, instructing people coming for vaccination to regularly wash their hands with sanitizer to prevent disease.
Covid-19 vaccine will be included in the expanded immunization program
Since the Covid-19 pandemic entered the province, to prevent and combat the Covid-19 epidemic, Binh Duong has quickly organized Covid-19 vaccination in the form of a large-scale campaign or organized mobile vaccination for target groups (adults aged 18 and over, children aged 12-17 and children aged 5 to under 12). According to statistics from the provincial health sector, accumulated since the implementation of the Covid-19 vaccination campaign to date, Binh Duong has administered more than 7.5 million doses, including more than 2.8 million doses of the first injection, more than 2.4 million doses of the second injection, more than 1.8 million doses of the third injection and more than 411,000 doses of the fourth injection.
It can be affirmed that the Covid-19 vaccination campaign for the entire population has been quite successful in the province. Many Covid-19 vaccination points have been established and well supported for the people. Vaccination points have appeared in almost all communes, wards and towns, and vaccination schedules have been specifically announced to the vaccination subjects. Thanks to that, the number of infections and deaths has decreased significantly, the epidemic has been controlled and life has returned to normal. Specifically, recently, in order to create conditions for people to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19, the health sector has directed medical facilities at the district, town, city and commune, ward and town levels to always support people to get vaccinated against Covid-19 quickly. Every Wednesday and Sunday, 91 commune, ward and town health stations or 9 district, town and city health centers organize Covid-19 vaccination points to serve the people.
Speaking to reporters, Dr. Huynh Minh Chin, Deputy Director of the Department of Health, said: “In the spirit of the Ministry of Health, in the coming time, the health sector will not organize Covid-19 vaccination according to the campaign but will include it in the regular vaccination program. 91 commune, ward and town health stations in the province will have 2-4 regular vaccination sessions deployed each month. Depending on the stations in different localities, Covid-19 vaccines will be included in vaccination sessions in the expanded vaccination program. Notably, the World Health Organization (WHO) recently announced that the Covid-19 pandemic is no longer a public health emergency and made temporary recommendations to integrate Covid-19 vaccination into the lifelong vaccination program. To continue implementing Covid-19 vaccination in 2023, the health sector will specifically identify the subjects to be vaccinated and estimate the need for vaccines.”
From April to June 2023, 9 districts, towns and cities in the province need more than 20,750 doses of Covid-19 vaccine to vaccinate different age groups. Of the total 20,750 doses, 7,770 are booster doses for people aged 18 and over, 3,200 are third doses for children aged 12-17, and 9,780 are for children aged 5-11 who have received the basic dose.
