This activity is part of the Inauguration Ceremony of the National Innovation Center (NIC) and the Opening Ceremony of the Vietnam International Innovation Exhibition 2023 (VIIE 2023) taking place from October 28 to November 1, aiming to realize the Government's determination to support and develop the Innovation ecosystem, making Vietnam a destination for innovation in the region and the world .
With the desire to join hands to turn the Vietnam National Innovation Center into a place to gather intelligence and spread the benefits of Vietnamese innovation, Samsung will cooperate with the National Innovation Center to deploy courses including Big Data, AI, IoT within the framework of the Samsung Innovation Campus (SIC) Project at the National Innovation Center, Hoa Lac campus. It is expected that about 300 students will participate in Samsung Innovation Campus courses at this facility in this year's session (2023 - 2024).
Samsung will also provide and equip electronic equipment, labs... at NIC Hoa Lac to serve the teaching of the above SIC courses as well as to coordinate the implementation of other events, training programs and research within the framework of Samsung Vietnam's social responsibility activities.
In addition, Samsung and NIC will cooperate to support Vietnamese startups - innovation - creativity in the coming time.
Also at the event, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and delegates directly visited and performed the opening ceremony of Samsung Lab at NIC Hoa Lac. This is the first milestone in the cooperation journey between Samsung and NIC to nurture technology talents, making Vietnam a destination for innovation in the region and the world.
Sharing about the significance of the cooperation, Mr. Choi Joo Ho - General Director of Samsung Vietnam said: "The cooperation activities with NIC are one of Samsung's efforts to support and accompany the success and development of the National Innovation Center, thereby realizing the commitments to accompany the development of Vietnam".
Previously, in response to the Prime Minister's call, Samsung sent experts from the Innovation Development Center of Samsung Electronics Korea directly to Vietnam to conduct a comprehensive assessment and consultation on the operation of NIC. In particular, based on the experience of operating the Korean Innovation Center, the experts introduced typical examples of cooperation between Samsung and the Korean Government as well as shared about C-Lab - a typical startup support program of Samsung.

In Korea, Samsung also invited Vietnamese students studying at Seoul National University - the top prestigious university in Korea, to visit the C-Lab Center to introduce to Vietnamese students the startup support program that Samsung is implementing, and at the same time share experiences and stories of successful entrepreneurs, contributing to spreading knowledge and experience to create a premise to support Vietnamese students to develop into talented entrepreneurs in the future, pursuing sustainable development.
Samsung Innovation Campus is a global IT education program for young people. The project nurtures young talent with problem-solving skills by providing them with the core skills needed to thrive in the future.
The program was officially launched globally in 2019. This is one of Samsung's typical social responsibility programs and has expanded to 32 countries worldwide such as the US, Germany, Spain, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand... In Vietnam, the program has also been implemented since 2019.
After 5 years, the program has provided about 6,021 Vietnamese youth and about 389 teachers with courses such as C&P, AI, Big Data, IoT. To date, the project has expanded to about 40 schools and 20 provinces and cities nationwide.
With the vision of social responsibility “Together for Tomorrow – Enabling People”, Samsung has been implementing many projects to foster and improve the quality of human resources in Vietnam such as: Solve for Tomorrow (SFT) Competition; STEM education playground at S.hub Kids Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang; Samsung Lab classroom sponsorship project and educational support for a number of universities to create conditions for students to access modern information technology knowledge; Awarding Samsung talent scholarships and internship opportunities at Samsung Vietnam's Research and Development Center.
