This is an event organized by the Vietnam Women's Museum in collaboration with the Vietnam Ao Dai Heritage Club to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam - Japan diplomatic relations, Vietnamese Women's Day...

"Vietnamese - Japanese Autumn Colors" introduces the graceful, flowing and colorful beauty of traditional Vietnamese ao dai and Japanese kimono through performances by Vietnamese girls.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Huong - Vice President of the Vietnam Women's Union - affirmed the close relationship between the two countries. During the struggle for national reunification, Japanese women carried out many activities to support Vietnam such as the "1 yen to support Vietnam" movement, making piggy banks, etc.

"That good relationship continues to be built and nurtured by women of the two countries through many cooperation programs, practical activities to support women in poverty reduction, economic development, preservation of traditional culture, cultural exchange activities and promotion of gender equality," Ms. Huong shared.

At the event, two collections "Vietnam brocade" by designer Nguyen Lan Vy and "Four seasons of Japan " by kimono expert Junko Sophie Kakizaki brought the public new perspectives on traditional costumes of the two countries.

The Vietnam Brocade collection includes 10 Ao Dai sets on brocade and silk. The designs are inspired by traditional Vietnamese cultural stories, sacred mascots such as dragons, phoenixes and dragons in ancient legends, and the image of bronze drums from the golden age of Vietnam.

The Four Seasons of Japan collection by kimono expert Junko Sophie Kakizaki includes 10 kimonos that are works of art reflecting the natural beauty and characteristic colors of the Land of the Rising Sun.

Especially in the event, there was also a ceremony to receive kimono costumes from expert Junko Sophie Kakizaki to donate to the Vietnam Women's Museum.

The kimono chosen by the Japanese expert to be presented has high cultural and artistic value and has been created, passed down and preserved in the family of expert Junko Sophie Kakizaki for many generations.
