The outstanding successes in the past term were important and comprehensive results in the economic, cultural and social fields, contributing to narrowing the gap in development level between mountainous ethnic minority areas and rural areas.
Notably, the annual economic growth rate is over 10%; the average income per capita has increased to about 65 million VND/person/year, with some communes reaching over 70 million VND/person/year. The annual poverty rate has decreased rapidly, and to date, the poverty rate in ethnic minority areas is 0.38%.

Ethnic minorities increasingly trust the leadership of the Party and State, unite, and actively participate in patriotic emulation movements. Many typical and advanced collectives and individuals of ethnic minorities have emerged in all areas of social life, and units and localities have been commended by the Party, State, Party committees, and authorities at all levels.
