Ultra-thin design
The iPhone SE is currently Apple's thinnest smartphone at 7.3mm. The standard iPhone 15 is 7.8mm, while the M4-powered iPad Pro is the company's thinnest mobile device at 5.1mm. The Slim will be thinner than the SE, but it's unclear whether it will surpass the iPad Pro's mark.
Replacement for iPhone 17 Plus
Some sources say the Slim will replace the iPhone 17 Plus, helping users not to hesitate too much because the iPhone 17 will still have 4 versions, instead of 5. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said Apple's decision is based on the sales of Plus models that have always been low, accounting for less than 10% for many years.
