Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Tran Quy Kien has just signed a document to send to the People's Committees of Binh Phuoc and Dak Nong provinces to review the overlap between Gia Nghia - Chon Thanh expressway.
The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment requires provinces to specifically list the scope and scale of the expressway project, the planned resettlement construction area, and related auxiliary items that overlap with the national mineral planning approved by the Prime Minister (Plan 866).

Through review, the two localities identified overlapping mineral resources and reserves, and made a preliminary assessment of the economic value of overlapping minerals.
The People's Committees of Binh Phuoc and Dak Nong provinces organized an assessment of the socio-economic efficiency of the issue of mineral recovery within the overlapping area and the plan for rapid exploitation and recovery of minerals within the overlapping area.
The classification of overlapping mineral objects is carried out according to criteria related to natural, economic and social conditions. Through the assessment of mineral reserves, quality, types of passing projects, and other related factors, solutions are proposed (fast exploitation, mineral recovery within the overlapping area, other options, etc.).
After a specific review, the People's Committees of the two provinces sent a request to the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment for synthesis and settlement according to regulations.

Gia Nghia (Dak Nong) - Chon Thanh (Binh Phuoc) Expressway is a component project of the Western North-South Expressway Construction Investment Project.
This project was approved by the National Assembly in principle for investment under Resolution No. 138/2024/QH15 on June 28, 2024.
On September 20, 2024, the Prime Minister issued Resolution No. 147/NQ-CP on the implementation of Resolution No. 138/2024/QH15. The expressway has a total length of 128.8km, of which the section passing through Dak Nong is 27.8km long and the section passing through Binh Phuoc is 101km long.
