Joao Mario was born in Guinea-Bissau but learned his football at Lusitana, a club in Senegal.
After training at an African team, Joao Mario joined Benfica on a free transfer.
But in the famous Portuguese football team's jersey, the star born in 1993 could not find a place and had to leave.
During that time, Joao Mario played for many different clubs but was not successful.
In the 2023 season, Joao Mario moved to Spartak Varna with a contract worth £100,000. After 7 appearances, he scored 2 goals for the Finnish team.
With unimpressive form, Joao Mario has parted ways with Spartak Varna after one season.
In the Guinea Bissau national team, the 30-year-old striker was called up many times but only started 2 matches and scored 1 goal.
As for HAGL, they are looking for a quality foreign striker to replace Brandao, who left the Pleiku team after the 2023 season, and Joao Mario is the target.
Previously, Mr. Duc's team was said to want the services of Thai player, Adisak Kraisorn.
But up to now, there has been no official information related to the above deal.
