(NLDO) - On the evening of December 15, authorities of Khanh Hoa and Lam Dong provinces cleared part of the landslide on Khanh Le pass, bringing nearly 350 trapped people to safety.
Accordingly, at Km59 on Khanh Le Pass on National Highway 27C (Son Thai Commune, Khanh Vinh District, Khanh Hoa Province), Lam Dong Province authorities cleared the road from Da Lat to Nha Trang; successfully rescued 13 passenger cars, 1 car, 1 truck with nearly 300 people.
These vehicles returned to Da Lat City that same evening. Currently, Lam Dong provincial authorities are continuing to handle the landslides at Km54.

Meanwhile, on the same evening, Mr. Van Ngoc Huong, Chairman of Khanh Vinh District People's Committee, said that Khanh Hoa province's functional forces also approached the landslide site at Km42 and 43, bringing more than 50 people to safety.
These people are all healthy and were invited to dinner. Some have moved to their homes in Nha Trang and Dien Khanh areas, while the rest have been arranged to sleep at the Dien Khanh District Military Command.
Previously, functional forces and authorities of Son Thai commune, Dien Khanh district approached vehicles stuck due to landslides to supply food.
Mr. Nguyen Tan Tuan, Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee, visited and encouraged the trapped people who had just been rescued.

Mr. Nguyen Tan Tuan said: “The most important thing is that the authorities have brought those trapped by the landslide to Khanh Vinh town safely, including the elderly, women and children. Khanh Vinh District People's Committee is responsible for taking care of everyone's food and rest to regain their health. Those who return to Nha Trang will be taken home by the locality, and those who stay will be provided with rooms by the district. The authorities will continue to make efforts to overcome the landslides to soon reopen National Highway 27C.”
Previously, Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper reported that heavy rain caused landslides at 4 points on National Highway 27C through Khanh Le Pass in Khanh Vinh District, causing serious traffic congestion.
Mr. Le Thuan Doan, Director of Khanh Hoa Road Construction and Management Joint Stock Company - the road maintenance unit, said that continuous heavy rain caused a landslide on Khanh Le Pass from Km 42 to Km 60. By the afternoon of the same day, 1 lane at Km 42+400 was open to traffic.
