
Earlier, Deputy Minister of Public Security Nguyen Van Long arrived at the scene to direct rescue operations and investigate the cause of the fire. Senior Lieutenant General Tran Quoc To, Deputy Minister assigned to manage the Ministry of Public Security, also arrived at the scene.
At present, the scene area is still being blocked off by authorities.
Previously, at around 0:30 on May 24, a large fire broke out at a boarding house in alley 98, lane 119, Trung Kinh street (Cau Giay district, Hanoi). The fire quickly flared up, accompanied by several loud explosions.
The fire broke out in a rental house consisting of 5 floors, each floor has two rooms, the first floor sells electric bicycles and repairs electric bicycles.
After firefighting efforts, the fire was extinguished at about 1 a.m. on May 24. Local residents reported that many bodies were brought out. By 6 a.m., according to initial statistics, 14 people who died at the scene were taken out of the burning house and taken to the Transport Hospital. In addition, there were a number of other injuries.
