On the afternoon of September 23, the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense issued Official Dispatch No. 30 to the Chairmen of the People's Committees of Ha Trung, Nga Son and Hau Loc districts, issuing a third alert on the Len River.
The water level of Len River through Ha Trung district is rising to level III alarm.
At 4:00 p.m. on September 23, 2024, the water level on the Len River at the Len Hydrological Station was (+5.83m) 0.17m below BĐIII. According to the Flood Forecast on the Len River of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Hydrometeorological Station in Document No. CBLU-60/15h30/THOA dated September 23, 2024, it is forecasted that in the next 12 hours, the water level of the Len River at the Len TV Station is likely to reach BĐIII (+6.00m) at around 7-9:00 p.m. on September 23, 2024. The Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense issued an alert level III on the Len River at the Len Hydrological Station, requesting the Chairmen of the District People's Committees to continue to deploy dyke patrols and protection according to the alert levels.
Organize inspection, review and be ready to deploy plans to ensure the safety of dike works; especially key weak points of dikes and sluices under dikes in the area; prepare materials, means and human resources according to the "4 on-site" motto to handle immediately when bad situations occur.
Proactively deploy evacuation plans to ensure absolute safety for people living in riverbank areas; warn people not to participate in activities such as traveling, collecting firewood, or fishing along rivers and on rivers.
Prohibit all motor vehicles from traveling on the dike (except for dike protection vehicles, dike inspection vehicles, vehicles on national defense and security duty, ambulances, fire trucks, vehicles on dike incident response and natural disaster prevention duty).
Organize a 24/7 on-duty team, closely monitor the developments of rain and floods to be ready to handle situations from the first hour; promptly inform and report to the Standing Office of the Provincial PCTT Command and the Standing Office of the Provincial Civil Defense Command, respond to natural disasters and search and rescue.
