Discovered facility decanting nearly 200 'laughing gas' cylinders in Hanoi

According to Hanoi City Police, on the evening of July 28, the Economic Police Department - Hanoi City Police coordinated with the Economic Police Team - Thanh Xuan District Police to suddenly inspect house number 21 in the X16 collective housing area - Ministry of Public Security (lane 93, Hoang Van Thai street, Thanh Xuan district).

At the time of inspection, the authorities caught Tran Quoc Anh (born in 1990, residing in Thanh Hoa province) decanting N2O gas (laughing gas) from 40 kg cylinders to 5 kg and 10 kg cylinders to deliver to customers.

Quoc Anh used 136 N20 gas cylinders weighing 5 kg, 10 kg and 51 N20 gas cylinders weighing 40 kg for decanting. According to the Economic Police Department - Hanoi City Police, this is the largest seizure of illegal N2O gas cylinders discovered by the unit since the beginning of the year.

At the scene, the authorities also seized many large suitcases, backpacks, and uniforms of technology car companies... which were cleverly disguised by the group to contain laughing gas cylinders inside, then delivered.

These N2O gas cylinders are mainly sold to individuals using at home in Hanoi through social networks. The average price offered by Tran Quoc Anh is from 300,000 to 500,000 VND/5-10 kg cylinder.

Working with the authorities, Tran Quoc Anh could not present legal invoices and documents, as well as a chemical business license as required.

The authorities have seized all the exhibits and are continuing to verify and handle the related subjects.
