Launching the 6th National Press Award "For the Cause of Vietnamese Education"

The award aims to honor authors with many excellent press works on the education cause; and typical collectives and individuals with many contributions to the education cause. Thereby, promoting and honoring the contributions of the education sector to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland, at the same time attracting the attention of all levels, sectors and society to the cause of Vietnamese education.

2023 is the 6th year the National Press Award “For the Cause of Vietnamese Education” is held. Last season, the Organizing Committee received nearly 800 entries in 4 types of journalism, including: Print, electronic, radio and television.

In his opening speech, Deputy Minister of Education and Training Hoang Minh Son said: 2023 is the 6th year the National Press Award "For the Cause of Vietnam's Education" is held. The award is chaired by the Ministry of Education and Training, in coordination with the Central Propaganda Department, the Ministry of Information and Communications, and the Vietnam Journalists Association. The Education and Times Newspaper was assigned by the Ministry of Education and Training as the permanent unit to organize the implementation.

"Through the National Press Award "For the Cause of Vietnamese Education", we together recognize and objectively evaluate the contributions of the education sector to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland. Through this, we help society understand education correctly and fully, thereby sharing, supporting and accompanying teachers across the country in particular and the entire education sector in general", Deputy Minister Hoang Minh Son emphasized.

According to Deputy Minister Son, the works deeply analyze the "hot" issues of the education sector; record the actual implementation or social criticism of the sector's policies and decisions; record the thoughts and aspirations of parents and students. Many works spread beautiful stories of the education sector; examples of good people, good deeds; the noble hearts and dedication of teachers... Among them are teachers who live in remote areas, stick to schools and classes, and volunteer to "sow letters" in remote areas of the country.

Discussing the award criteria, journalist Trieu Ngoc Lam - Editor-in-Chief of Education & Times Newspaper said that the work ensures authenticity, accuracy, objectivity, and has the correct ideological and political orientation.

The content of the work must raise educational issues that are of public concern; be of discovery, summary or guidance, be persuasive and have high social effectiveness; have an attractive and creative method of expression; and have a positive impact on educational innovation. Works of a fictional nature will not be considered.

Typical educational activities have been and are being implemented in localities and educational institutions at all levels from preschool to university.

Collectives and individuals have many outstanding solutions, results, achievements, and innovations in teaching and learning in the spirit of Resolution No. 29-NQ/TU in 2013 of the Central Executive Committee on fundamental and comprehensive innovation in education and training, meeting the requirements of industrialization and modernization in the conditions of a socialist-oriented market economy and international integration.

Touching, influential, positive and inspirational stories about teachers and their contributions to the country's education.

The award structure for each category includes: 1 First Prize, 2 Second Prizes, 3 Third Prizes and a number of Consolation Prizes. Outstanding character award in the winning work (2 characters).

For the special and secondary prizes, the Organizing Committee will consider and decide, depending on the actual situation of each year of organization. The special prize will receive a Certificate of Merit from the Minister of Education and Training.
