According to many tourists, recently, many floating foam buoys have appeared on Ha Long Bay. In some places, the number is so dense that it covers a corner of the sea. On social media platforms, many international tourists film the beautiful scenery of Ha Long Bay but do not forget to attach images of the water surface full of trash.
Thanh Nien reporters noted that many large foam buoys, large trees, and rafts required 3-4 people to collect onto the ship. In addition, most of the foam buoys used to raise oysters and barnacles at sea were discharged into the sea during the process of dismantling and moving cages. This has seriously affected the landscape and environment of the world natural heritage Ha Long Bay; at the same time, it also hindered the movement of ships and boats on the routes.
Ha Long Bay is full of garbage
Faced with the situation of polystyrene floating trash appearing in large quantities on Ha Long Bay (Quang Ninh) and Lan Ha Bay ( Hai Phong ), on April 5, the Department of Cultural Heritage (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) issued an official dispatch to the Ha Long Bay Management Board requesting clarification.
To rescue Ha Long Bay from the above amount of foam buoys, from March 24 until now, Ha Long City People's Committee has launched a peak campaign to mobilize hundreds of people, along with 25 vehicles to organize the collection of waste on Ha Long Bay.
Speaking to Thanh Nien , a leader of the Ha Long City People's Committee said that there are no concentrated aquaculture sites in the core area of Ha Long Bay heritage. The above mentioned amount of foam buoys drifted from the border areas of Cam Pha City, Van Don District, and Quang Yen Town. This campaign is expected to last until the end of April.
Authorities use vehicles to go from place to place to collect foam buoys.
