Recently, the Inspectorate of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health said that it is investigating a clinic that seriously violated professional regulations when causing an accident to a pregnant woman. Specifically, on July 17, the Inspectorate of the Department of Health received information from Hung Vuong Hospital reporting a medical accident case that was treated at the hospital.

Verification results from the Department of Health showed that patient CTPN had come for examination and treatment at the multidisciplinary clinic of Nam Viet Multidisciplinary Clinic Company Limited at 202 To Hien Thanh, Ward 15, District 10.

Then, at 10:00 a.m. on July 15, patient N. went to Nam Viet General Clinic for an abortion. At that time, the ultrasound results diagnosed that N.'s pregnancy was about 22 weeks. The patient was kept at the clinic and at 5:00 p.m. on July 16, the abortion was performed.

After having an abortion here, Ms. N. felt tired, had a stomachache, and had a lot of vaginal bleeding. The clinic staff took her to Hung Vuong Hospital by taxi. Fortunately, patient N. received timely emergency care and is now in stable condition.

Immediately after the incident, the Department of Health deployed a team to verify information at the hospital and established an inspection team to inspect operations at the related clinic.

The Department of Health said that the inspectors will handle according to the law for individuals and organizations that violate the law in medical examination and treatment activities, especially strictly handle facilities that operate beyond their scope of expertise, causing complications for patients.

In addition, the Department of Health also requested that medical facilities, when receiving emergency cases due to complications after performing medical examination and treatment services at private facilities and clinics, must promptly report to the Department of Health to ensure effective state management of medical examination and treatment activities in the area.
