Mr. Nguyen Duc Dung holds the position of Chairman of the People's Council of Quang Nam province.

On the morning of August 14, at the 25th session of the 10th term Quang Nam Provincial People's Council, delegates voted to elect the position of Chairman of the Provincial People's Council for the 2021-2026 term.

As a result, 47/47 delegates present agreed to elect Mr. Nguyen Duc Dung - Standing Deputy Secretary of Quang Nam Provincial Party Committee - to hold the position of Chairman of Quang Nam Provincial People's Council, with a rate of 100%.

Thus, after many months of vacancy in this position, the People's Council of Quang Nam province has now completed the position of chairman.

In April 2024, at the 21st session, the People's Council of Quang Nam province dismissed Mr. Phan Viet Cuong (retired) from the position of Chairman of the Provincial People's Council for the 2021-2026 term.

Mr. Nguyen Duc Dung, 57 years old, hometown Duc Pho district, Quang Ngai. Professional qualification: People's Security University, advanced political theory level.

He has held many positions in the police force such as: Deputy Head of the Investigation Security Department of Quang Nam Provincial Police, Deputy Head of Nong Son District Police.

From October 2012 to November 2014, he was the head of the Political Security Department and then the head of the Staff Department of the Provincial Police. From August 2016 to November 2019, he was the deputy director of the Provincial Police. In November 2019, he was appointed director of the Quang Nam Provincial Police.

In July 2024, Quang Nam Provincial Party Committee held a conference to implement the personnel work process to elect the Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term.

As a result, 100% of the provincial Party Committee members present voted to elect Major General Nguyen Duc Dung to hold the position of Deputy Secretary of the Quang Nam Provincial Party Committee.

The Secretariat then decided to approve Mr. Dung as Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee. The Standing Committee of the Quang Nam Provincial Party Committee also unanimously assigned Mr. Dung to hold the position of Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee.
