With more than 10 years of working in the village, Ms. Ngo Thi Nhan (born in 1988, Xuan My commune, Nghi Xuan, Ha Tinh) is known as a young cadre who is enthusiastic, responsible for her work and bold in developing the economy and striving to become rich.
Young and enthusiastic staff
In 2008, after graduating from the tourism major at Hong Lam Technical Economic College (Nghe An), Ms. Ngo Thi Nhan started working at a number of tourist establishments in Nghe An - Ha Tinh. 3 years later, she got married and moved to Xuan My commune (Nghi Xuan). Thanks to the fact that during her time working in the tourism sector, she also studied for a primary medical certificate, so when she returned to her hometown, she was trusted to be assigned as a village health worker and Vice President of the Women's Association of Truong My village (now Hong My village).
Ms. Ngo Thi Nhan is a responsible party member.
As a young and enthusiastic person, Ms. Nhan has been entrusted by the locality with many new tasks. For the past 11 years, she has taken on many jobs such as: population collaborator, deputy head of the women's association, head of the village farmers' association. Currently, Ms. Nhan is the deputy secretary of the Party cell, secretary of the youth union and medical staff of Hong My village.
In her role as a village-level cadre, Ms. Nhan believes that "wherever you are stuck, if you persevere, you will reap sweet rewards". According to Ms. Nhan, the most difficult thing about the activities of the Youth Union in the village is that most of the members work far away, and a number of young people are not interested in the activities of the Youth Union. Therefore, in order to gather the members and young people in the village, Ms. Nhan regularly organizes exciting cultural and artistic activities, attracting the participation of members and young people. From there, it creates more solidarity and unity to carry out the movements.
Hong My Youth Union has successfully built 2 playgrounds for children.
Over the past years, under the leadership of "leader" Ngo Thi Nhan, Hong My Youth Union has carried out many meaningful and practical works such as: successfully building 2 playgrounds for children and the elderly; building a youth road; helping many households eliminate mixed gardens, build model gardens and actively participate in labor to build new rural areas with other mass organizations.
Hong My village was merged in 2019 from 3 villages Vinh My, Tan My, Truong My, so it has a large area, a large population of more than 1,400 people. People have different customs and lifestyles, so gathering people to participate in common village work also faces many difficulties.
As Deputy Secretary of the village Party cell, female Party member Ngo Thi Nhan, together with the Party cell committee and the village Front Committee, has done a good job of mass mobilization by visiting people's homes to talk, learn about the conditions of each family, and propagate the Party's policies and the benefits that people have enjoyed from the programs. From there, she has helped people in the village change their way of thinking, creating a strong influence in the new rural construction movement.
Ms. Nhan believes that to do a good job in the village, one must be close to and understand the people.
With the advantage of being a female cadre, Ms. Nhan also regularly visits each household to propagate and encourage people to live hygienically, care about people's health and the health of women and children in the village. "As long as I am close to the people, understand them, work wholeheartedly, responsibly, and set an example in words and actions, the people will definitely love and trust me" - Ms. Nhan expressed.
In 2021, Hong My village met the standards of a model residential area. Road infrastructure, green fences are clean and beautiful, people's lives have been improved both materially and spiritually. Up to now, the average income per capita of the village has reached over 48 million VND/person/year. Ms. Le Thi Huong - a resident of Hong My village said: "The enthusiasm, responsibility, daring to think, daring to do of Ms. Ngo Thi Nhan and the Party cell committee, the village front work committee have contributed significantly to changing the landscape of Hong My village, helping many families develop the economy from model gardens, increasing their income."
With many contributions to grassroots activities, Hong My Youth Union has been an excellent Youth Union of Xuan My Commune for many years. Ms. Ngo Thi Nhan was awarded a certificate of merit for being an excellent Youth Union Secretary for 5 consecutive years from 2016 to 2021 by Nghi Xuan District Youth Union.
Boldly invest in economic development
Not only is she an exemplary and responsible village cadre, with the determination of a young party member, Ms. Nhan is also bold in investing in developing her family's economy.
At the end of 2022, taking advantage of the large garden area, Ms. Nhan borrowed nearly 500 million VND to build a hydroponic melon growing model. From this money, she invested in 2 greenhouses with an area of nearly 1,000 m2 .

“There are many models of growing melons in the locality, but there is no hydroponics. Therefore, my nephew and I packed our bags and went to Da Nang and Binh Duong to learn from some models. Luckily, my nephew Tran Van Son has worked in Malaysia for 7 years growing vegetables and fruits, so learning and implementing them was easier.”
In February 2023, Ms. Nhan only planted 300 melon trees to both work and gain experience. After more than 2 months, the first experimental melon crop yielded a good harvest with a revenue of about 15 million VND. Mr. Tran Van Son - the technician in charge of the model said: "Growing hydroponic melons is growing plants using a system containing a nutrient solution with suitable ingredients, which contains absolutely no growth stimulants or pesticides. This solution is pumped from the tank to the plastic pipe system, then flows through the root system of the plant and returns to the tank in a closed cycle. Thanks to that, the plant absorbs nutrients and I can easily control the nutrient content."
Ms. Nhan is excited when the new melon crop is about to be harvested.
From the success of the first crop of melons, Ms. Nhan continued to plant the second crop with more than 1,300 plants. Thanks to proper care, the melons grew well and are expected to be harvested at the end of August.
Taking us on a tour of the melon garden, Ms. Nhan excitedly said: “There are only a few more days until this crop of melons enters harvest season. It is estimated that after deducting expenses, this crop will bring in an income of nearly 70 million VND.”
Mr. Le Duy Tan - Secretary of the Party Committee of Xuan My Commune said: "Ms. Ngo Thi Nhan - Deputy Secretary of the Party Cell, Secretary of the Youth Union of Hong My Village is an enthusiastic and active person in village activities, contributing a lot to the development of the village. Moreover, Ms. Nhan is also bold in taking the lead in transforming the structure of crops and livestock, developing the local economy. The efforts of Ms. Nhan and the Party Committee and the Front Committee of Hong My Village have achieved many positive results, making Hong My Village increasingly developed."
