According to Mr. Ha, over 530,000 Vietnamese people are living and working in Japan, a dynamic, young and rapidly developing community, conscious of preserving national cultural identity, and looking towards the homeland. Mr. Ha believes that, with the awareness of water having its source, trees having their roots, with the solidarity of the Vietnamese community, the message of patriotism, awareness of national sovereignty, and pride in territorial integrity will be widely spread to all our compatriots in Japan. "I hope that through today's meaningful activity, Japanese friends will understand more about the country and people of Vietnam, continue to support Vietnam's territorial sovereignty and support this movement to spread more widely," Mr. Ha emphasized.

"Hang a map is not simply hanging an image in our office, living room, or residence, but more than that, looking at the map, we see a miniature image of the country, we are more aware of our territorial integrity, thereby lighting up in our hearts the responsibility to protect the sovereignty of the Fatherland," Mr. Lam emphasized. According to Mr. Lam, with each map hung, many union officials and members will better understand the geographical indications of the country, about the places associated with the thousands of years of history of building and defending the country. Each map hung is a practical action to educate about national sovereignty. "With a map hanging solemnly in the room, we will always see our beloved Fatherland, thereby having more determination and motivation to study, work, and contribute to the Fatherland," Mr. Lam expressed.
Nearly 100,000 new Vietnam maps are hung
Mr. Lam also said that since December 2023, the campaign was launched in Da Nang, and up to now, there have been hundreds of response activities from union members and young people nationwide; nearly 100,000 maps of Vietnam have been presented and hung across the country, spreading strongly to a large number of union members, young people and people across the country. "The campaign has truly created an exciting, enthusiastic atmosphere and aroused the tradition of patriotism, national pride, awareness of territorial sovereignty, and respect for the national map not only among young people but also spread to all classes of people," Mr. Lam assessed. In particular, Mr. Lam emphasized that the influence of the "Proud of a strip of country" campaign has not stopped at home but has continued to reach abroad, to areas, places where Vietnamese people live, study and work in other countries, typically the launching ceremony taking place in Osaka (Japan) today. "I am very happy to witness the warm atmosphere, harmonious feelings, tradition of great solidarity and passionate patriotism of the Vietnamese community in Osaka. The maps from the "motherland" sent and solemnly hung in the spaces of the Vietnamese community here, are the clearest proof of that spirit", Mr. Lam said emotionally. At the launching ceremony, representatives of the Vietnamese Association in Japan and Professor Shimizu Misaki, Head of the Vietnamese Language Department, Osaka University, expressed their emotion and appreciation for the significance of this campaign. The organizers presented 34 maps of Vietnam to 34 Vietnamese groups and units in Japan and Japanese schools to hang in their workspaces and communities.
