Sharing at the 2023 annual conference, Associate Professor, Dr. Vu Hai Quan, Director of Ho Chi Minh City National University, said that next year the University plans to open a number of new, interdisciplinary, and inter-school training programs to serve the country's development needs such as semiconductor technology - microchip design, new energy technology, and green growth models.

Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology plans to enroll 7 new majors and majors for undergraduate training next year. Of these, 4 new majors include: microchip design, construction economics, construction geotechnical engineering and data science. In addition, there are 3 new majors: construction management, pharmaceutical chemistry and cosmetic chemistry. Associate Professor, Dr. Bui Hoai Thang, Head of Training Department of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, said that construction management has been trained at the master's level and is now officially a major at the undergraduate level. In addition to the above majors and majors, the school can consider enrolling some other new majors that the school has strengths in training to meet the market demand in the coming time.

According to Dr. Nguyen Tan Tran Minh Khang, Vice Principal of Ho Chi Minh City University of Information Technology, in 2024 the school will develop a project to pilot the undergraduate program in microchip design and open a master's program in computer engineering with a major in microchip design. Previously, in 2023 the school implemented a pilot enrollment program in microchip design with a separate major code to assess the needs of learners and propose necessary tasks to attract quality students for this field. According to the project to open a microchip design training program submitted to Ho Chi Minh City National University, the school enrolls 150 students per year. The training program is oriented to equip complete knowledge of the microchip design process, design skills using professional microchip design tools and the ability to study, research, and work for life in the semiconductor microchip industry.

Regarding the field of semiconductor technology, Ho Chi Minh City University of Science also plans to open two new majors: microchip design and semiconductor technology.

On the morning of December 28, the Management Board of Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Park and Ansys Company signed a cooperation agreement to improve semiconductor design and innovation skills in Vietnam.

M IN THE INDUSTRY WITH HIGH HUMAN RESOURCE DEMAND

Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Van Thuy, Head of Admissions Consulting and Brand Development Department of Banking University of Ho Chi Minh City, said that in 2024, the school will develop new majors at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Specifically, the school plans to open 8 new majors/programs at undergraduate level, of which the standard regular program has 5 majors: marketing (digital and multimedia orientation), logistics and supply chain management (system and logistics service orientation), financial technology, data science and international business. In addition, the school will enroll 2 new semi-regular English training programs including: international economics and management information systems; 1 special training program in English language according to international standards.

Ho Chi Minh City Open University plans to enroll four new majors next year, including: insurance, financial technology (fintech), artificial intelligence, and high-quality auditing.

The University of Economics and Finance also opened two new majors: digital economics and software engineering. Meanwhile, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology began enrolling students in seven new majors from 2024, including digital economics, computer science, computer engineering, thermal engineering, artificial intelligence, aesthetic technology, and financial technology. According to Master Nguyen Thi Xuan Dung, Director of the Media Center of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, these are fields with high demand for human resources, in line with current socio-economic development trends.

Meanwhile, in 2024, Ho Chi Minh City National University will merge the Faculty of Politics and Administration into the University of Economics and Law. Master Cu Xuan Tien, Head of Admissions and Communications, said that the school will add a new major, public administration.

A representative of Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics also said that the unit will have a number of new training majors in 2024 following the trend of developing technology associated with art and management towards sustainable development.

Ho Chi Minh City University of Physical Education and Sports recruits students for non-pedagogical majors

Dr. Nguyen Ke Binh, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Ho Chi Minh City University of Physical Education and Sports, said that in 2024, the school will have two new university training majors: sports coaching and sports management. Mr. Binh said that up to now, the school has only had one university training major, which is physical education, to train physical education teachers. With these two new majors, for the first time, the school will enroll students in non-pedagogical majors, aiming to train a team of professional coaches and managers of physical education and sports activities.
