Prestigious people among ethnic minorities are the strong bond that connects solidarity.

Member of the Politburo, Permanent Secretary of the Secretariat, General Luong Cuong spoke at the program.

Attending the program were Politburo members: Standing member of the Secretariat, General Luong Cuong; Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Do Van Chien; Minister of National Defense, General Phan Van Giang; along with Party Central Committee members, alternate members of the Party Central Committee; representatives of leaders of Central Committees, Ministries, branches, leaders of Hanoi city and nearly 200 delegates who are prestigious people representing the border and island areas.

On the side of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, attending the program was Central Party Committee member, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung.

Speaking at the program, on behalf of the Party and State leaders and the Standing Secretariat, General Luong Cuong warmly congratulated and commended the achievements that the prestigious team has achieved in the past time.

The Standing Secretariat affirmed: "Our Party and State pay special attention to the work of mobilizing and promoting the role of prestigious people in building the great national unity bloc, for the cause of building and defending the Fatherland. Prestigious people among ethnic minorities have made many contributions in all areas of social life, are outstanding individuals, have a deep understanding of local customs and practices, and are admired, respected and honored by the community."

According to the Standing Secretariat, prestigious people are truly the bridge between the Party and the people, increasing the people's trust in the Party, the State, the Army and the Border Guard. The peace and prosperity of the Fatherland's borders are due to the great contributions and sacrifices of the ethnic people in general and of prestigious people in particular. These are truly the "Footholds of the Village" in the important areas of our Fatherland.

Throughout the history of the nation, the community of 54 ethnic groups in Vietnam has always stood shoulder to shoulder, shared the joys and sorrows, and remained loyal and united. The tradition of solidarity forged over thousands of years of history has become the source of strength for our nation.

"Prestigious people among ethnic minorities are the strong bond that binds that solidarity. Our Uncle Ho once affirmed that when "there is great solidarity, the future will surely be glorious" - the Standing Member of the Secretariat emphasized.

Standing member of the Secretariat Luong Cuong also affirmed: The good actions and good deeds of prestigious people, village elders, village chiefs, dignitaries and religious officials really have the power to move people's hearts, inspiring good things and justice to be increasingly multiplied in life.

To better promote the role of prestigious people in the ethnic minority communities in border, sea and island areas in the coming time, Standing member of the Secretariat, General Luong Cuong suggested that sectors, localities and prestigious people need to perform well a number of contents: Committees, Ministries, sectors, armed forces and Party Committees and authorities at all levels need to continue to be more deeply aware of the extremely important position and role of prestigious people in ethnic minorities.

Party committees and authorities at all levels must pay more attention to prestigious people among ethnic minorities. Early detection, training and preparation of necessary conditions for potential factors to become prestigious successors, abundant and strong. Policies for prestigious people need to be timely, complete and practical. In addition to the general regulations of the Central Government, Party committees and authorities at all levels need to study more policies for prestigious people suitable to the characteristics and specific situations of each unit and locality.

The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees at all levels pay attention to the work of building, nurturing and promoting the role of prestigious people, consolidating the great national unity bloc to become increasingly stronger. The Border Guard and Police forces are closely associated and coordinated with prestigious people in border areas, depending on regional characteristics, ethnic characteristics, and local conditions to innovate coordination methods to be appropriate, diverse, flexible and effective.

Standing member of the Secretariat, General Luong Cuong hopes and requests that village elders, village chiefs, clan chiefs, religious dignitaries, and prestigious people continue to promote their roles, responsibilities, and set an example in words and deeds, so that families, clans, villages, and communities can learn and follow; actively disseminate the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws to ethnic communities; directly guide and mobilize people to develop production, enrich themselves legitimately, practice a cultural lifestyle, eliminate backward customs, superstitions and evils; mobilize children and grandchildren in families, clans, and villages to participate in self-management groups for border lines and border markers; coordinate with the Border Guard and the Police to organize border patrols and protection, contributing to building a peaceful, friendly, stable, and developed border.

Minister of National Defense, General Phan Van Giang and Minister, Chairman of the Ethnic Committee Hau A Lenh presented the Logo and Certificate of the Program "The fulcrum of the village" to delegates with outstanding prestige in border, sea and island areas.

General Luong Cuong also requested the Editorial Board of the Communist Magazine, the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the Border Guard Command and the Ethnic Committee to periodically organize the program every two years to promptly honor and encourage prestigious people, along with ethnic people and functional forces who are working side by side day and night to carry out the task of building and firmly protecting the Fatherland's borders.

The Standing Secretariat hopes that prestigious people will always remember the profound advice of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong at the first meeting of the "Village Support" Program in 2018: "We hope that people will always have absolute trust in the leadership of the Party and State, believe in the good future of the nation, not listen to bad people's instigation, not do anything that affects the great unity of the whole nation, and truly be the "Village Support".

At the program, the Organizing Committee awarded the Logo and Certificate of the Program "The Village's Support" to 200 prestigious delegates in border, sea and island areas belonging to 47 ethnic minorities from 43 border provinces and cities, sea and island areas.

These are people with outstanding prestige in protecting borders and landmarks, participating in maintaining security and order, preventing and combating social evils and crimes on the border, developing the economy, preserving and promoting the cultural identity of ethnic minority areas, effectively implementing the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws...

The second “Village Support” program in 2024 will be held nationwide. Delegates are prestigious people representing the border and island areas participating in activities including: Meeting with the President; Visiting the President Ho Chi Minh Relic Site in Da Chong (K9); Attending the Ceremony to honor and present the Certificate and logo of the program./.
