On September 13, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health announced that in the context of rising flood waters isolating many households in the North due to the impact of storm No. 3, the unit launched the "Family Medicine Bag" program throughout the health sector.

Participating in the program include public units and non-public hospitals and medical facilities. The health sector will support 30,000 medicine bags for 10 northern provinces and cities that are heavily affected by storm No. 3.

The medicine bag will contain essential medicines such as: fever reducer, stomach ache, diarrhea, allergy, skin antiseptic, personal bandages...

This is a list of essential medicines to help people isolated by floods take care of their health (both adults and children) with detailed instructions for safe and effective use.

It is expected that on September 14, the first bags of medicine will begin to be transported to the Department of Health of provinces and cities to promptly support people.

Previously, on September 12, the Department of Health held a meeting and discussed with leaders of affiliated hospitals and agreed on practical activities to share and support the health sector in the Northern provinces.

The Department of Health assigned the city's general and specialized hospitals to "pair" with district hospitals to prepare human resources to support community health work when flood waters recede.

At the same time, be ready with human resources when receiving requests for human resources support from the Department of Health of the Northern provinces and cities or requests from the Ministry of Health.

Present at the ceremony, 67 officers and doctors were extremely determined to set out, dedicating all their efforts, to support people in Yen Bai and Thai Nguyen provinces to stabilize their lives after storm No. 3.

As someone who was assigned by the Binh Dinh Provincial Department of Health to Vinh Phuc Province to fight the COVID-19 epidemic in 2020, Dr. Nguyen Thi Hoai Thuong - Binh Dinh Provincial Center for Disease Control - said: "The consequences of storm No. 3 were too severe, I saw that people in the northern provinces were really miserable and struggling. This time, I just want to contribute my little strength to help my people recover. I believe we will overcome this disaster together."

Meanwhile, Mr. Pham Van Anh - a former excellent grassroots health worker who had the honor of meeting the General Secretary and President, currently working at Vinh An Commune Health Station, Tay Son District - emotionally shared: "I only have 1 year left until retirement. In my life, I have never witnessed a natural disaster as terrible as the one left by storm No. 3.

I love my people so much. I really wish that before I retire, I will devote all my strength to my homeland and country once. Sitting at home, seeing my people working hard, I cannot bear it. Really, my heart aches."

Mr. Le Quang Hung - Director of Binh Dinh Province Department of Health - said that this time the mission of the delegation is to handle the environment, disinfect water, prevent epidemics to help people soon stabilize their lives and overcome this difficult period.

"This mission will face many difficulties, but I believe we will all overcome them. For our beloved Northern compatriots, we will definitely win," Mr. Hung encouraged everyone.

On this occasion, Binh Dinh Pharmaceutical and Medical Equipment Company donated 20 medicine bases and 4,000 medicine bags to households worth 785 million VND for people in the northern provinces to prevent the epidemic.
