Hanoi health sector launches Action Month for drug prevention and control

District, county and town health centers participate in activities responding to the Action Month on drug prevention and control. Units continue to provide methadone treatment for addicts participating in treatment of addiction to opiate substances with replacement drugs.

Hanoi Mental Hospital guides, inspects, and professionally supervises the work of determining addiction status, using regimens, supporting drugs for drug addiction treatment, and supporting drugs for anti-relapse treatment permitted by the Ministry of Health.

In addition, the Department of Health strengthens the management, use, and distribution of precursors, addictive drugs, and psychotropic drugs at units in the industry. The Department increases inspections of pharmaceutical business establishments, management of the use and distribution of addictive drugs, psychotropic drugs, and precursors used in medicine at medical facilities, pharmacies, etc. to promptly detect and strictly handle violations.
