Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Nguyen Minh Lam requested the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Long An, as well as related departments, branches and People's Committees of districts, towns and cities in the province to strengthen coordination, focus on implementing a number of key tasks to successfully complete the common tasks set out.
In 2023, along with implementing professional tasks according to the state plan, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Long An has closely followed the direction of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee, actively and proactively coordinated with units and localities to promptly resolve arising difficulties. Administrative reform has been focused on, step by step innovated, the organizational system of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment continues to be improved and perfected; the work of advising on the promulgation of legal documents has been focused on, contributing to perfecting the system of policies and laws, effectively serving the state management of Natural Resources and Environment in Long An province.
Land statistics and land use planning for 2023 in districts, towns and cities are on schedule. Land allocation, land lease and land use purpose conversion are carried out in accordance with regulations; reviewing and overcoming existing limitations in land allocation, land lease, land use purpose conversion, and changing the form of land use from annual land lease to one-time land lease. The Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Long An advises the Provincial People's Committee to focus on implementing solutions to remove difficulties and shortcomings in performing long-term tasks and issues arising in state management of land in the area.
In addition, compensation, site clearance and resettlement work were focused on and achieved and exceeded the assigned plan. Environmental pollution management and control were increasingly strict, and domestic waste treatment reached the rate set by the Resolution of the Long An Provincial Party Committee. Notably, there were no environmental pollution hotspots in the area during the year.
At the same time, inspection and examination activities were effectively implemented, organizing inspections of state management of land, environment, water and minerals according to plan. Consulting and promptly handling, in accordance with regulations under the direction of the Provincial People's Committee, complaints and denunciations arising on natural resources and environment and in handling administrative procedures. Through inspection and examination, weaknesses, limitations and violations were promptly detected to promptly and strictly handle violating organizations and individuals.
Regarding the management and use of public land, in recent times, the People's Committee at the district level has focused on directing the review, statistics and allocation of funding sources to measure and mark the boundaries of public land plots, place signs, and publicize public land funds in the field. As a result, up to now, 15/15 units have basically completed the measurement and marking of public land plots in the district; 5 districts have issued decisions approving the list of public land funds, including: Thu Thua, Thanh Hoa, Tan Thanh, Tan Hung and Moc Hoa. In addition to the achieved results, through analysis and evaluation, in the implementation of the assigned functions and tasks of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Long An in 2023, there are still some contents that have not achieved high results. Compensation and site clearance in 2023 exceeded the set plan but still did not meet the requirements of socio-economic development of the province; many projects have been stuck in compensation and site clearance for many years but have not been completely resolved.
The conference also listened to the contributions of representatives of leaders of departments, branches and localities so that the state management of natural resources and environment in 2024 and the following years can achieve better results.
