* May I ask if there is any difference between Construction Engineering and Construction Management? If I study Construction Engineering, what will my job opportunities be after graduation? (TRAN TIEN LONG, Ben Luc district, Long An province)
- MSc. NGUYEN TRAN NGOC PHUONG , Director of Marketing and Brand Development Center (Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology): Construction Engineering is a major specializing in consulting, designing, organizing construction, supervising and accepting civil construction works and industrial works serving human life (such as houses, restaurants, hotels, factories, highways, bridges, airports, seaports, railways, tunnels, offshore works...).
Meanwhile, the Construction Management industry is the industry that directly performs tasks or practices consulting on project establishment and evaluation, construction organization design documents, and organizes activities at each stage of project preparation and implementation (such as bidding, design implementation, construction, handover, acceptance, and final payment of works).
The demand for human resources in the Construction Engineering and Construction Management sectors has been increasing continuously over the years. According to experts' forecasts, each year there will be a need for about 400,000-500,000 more workers at many levels, many majors, many different positions. This is completely understandable because the demand for basic construction for civil, public, industrial works, traffic - public works, water supply - drainage - other infrastructure... must always develop and improve continuously.
