Vietnamese fried spring rolls and shrimp cakes are among the world's best snacks.

Shrimp rolls or sugarcane rolls is a Vietnamese dish ranked 28th on the list by TasteAtlas. This dish originating from the ancient capital of Hue has become increasingly popular in the daily lives of people across Vietnam.

Shrimp is minced, sometimes with pork added, and seasoned with spices such as garlic and fish sauce, then wrapped around short pieces of sugarcane and steamed, grilled or fried.

TasteAtlas considers shrimp rolls an ideal choice as an appetizer or a snack. In addition to the harmonious sweet and sour dipping sauce, shrimp rolls are often served with raw vegetables and rice noodles.

Spring rolls (or fried spring rolls) are number 85 on the list. The main feature of this dish is the pork and shrimp filling wrapped in a thin rice paper.

Spring rolls are often filled with carrots, jicama, mushrooms, vermicelli and bean sprouts. TasteAtlas shares that the fried spring rolls have an attractive golden color, a thin, crispy and light outer layer and an indescribably delicious filling.

TasteAtlas's list of the top 10 most-rated snacks features representatives from around the world, including Japan's hamamatsu, China's guotie and pickled cucumbers, Indonesia's pempek and batagor, Malaysia's karipap and roti canai, Brazil's pão de queijo, and Mexico's esquites and antojitos.

Founded in 2015, Taste Atlas (headquartered in Zagreb, Croatia) is known as a map that brings together traditional dishes from around the world.

According to Matija Babić, founder of Taste Atlas, the food and beverage rankings are based on opinions and reviews from experts and food critics to ensure the reliability of the awards.
