Previously, Thua Thien Hue province was chosen by the Government and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism as the host locality for the National Tourism Year 2025 with the theme "Hue - Ancient Capital, New Opportunities".

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh, Permanent Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province, said that the National Tourism Year - Hue 2025 is a typical cultural - economic - social and tourism event of national and international scale combined with Hue Festival 2025, associated with the 50th anniversary of the liberation of Thua Thien Hue province (March 26, 1975 - March 26, 2025) and responding to and welcoming Hue to become a city directly under the Central Government.
The organization of the National Tourism Year - Hue 2025 is expected to be a very important boost to help the socio-economy in general and tourism in Thua Thien Hue province in particular flourish, creating conditions to attract resources for investment and development, building new and attractive products, contributing to creating momentum for socio-economic development of the province in 2025 and the following years.

Notably, there will be 4 key activities: the Opening Ceremony of "National Tourism Year - Hue 2025" combined with the Fireworks Art Program to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Thua Thien Hue province taking place on the evening of March 25, 2025.
The International Conference on Cultural Industries - the Foundation for Sustainable Tourism Development will take place on March 25, 2025; the Cultural - Tourism Festival and the Program to introduce tourism, cuisine, Vietnamese craft villages, and connect businesses on the occasion of the National Tourism Year - Hue 2025 in the European market are scheduled for June 2025 and the Closing Ceremony of "National Tourism Year - Hue 2025" will take place at the end of December 2025.
