A city requires good teaching right from the beginning, limits extra classes

(Dan Tri) - The Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City requested that schools need to improve the quality of formal teaching and limit the need for extra classes.

This content was emphasized in the conclusion of Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City Nguyen Van Hieu at the professional conference of principals of high schools in the area.

Regarding the implementation of Circular 29 of the Ministry of Education and Training on extra teaching and learning, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City requires principals of high schools to thoroughly disseminate the content of this circular to all cadres, teachers and school staff, ensuring that extra teaching activities comply with regulations, are public, transparent, and avoid abuse for personal purposes.

At the same time, schools need to improve the quality of formal teaching so that students can learn effectively during class time, limiting the need for extra classes. Students should not be forced to attend extra classes in any form.

Check and review the assignment of teachers' duty periods, ensure sufficient compulsory teaching volume; strictly implement, fully and accurately declare data on the extra teaching and learning management system to ensure transparent and effective management.

The Director of the Department assigned the GeneralEducation Department to inspect the assessment of students' abilities and guide schools to improve the quality of formal teaching;

Assign the Department office to develop software to manage extra teaching and learning, and at the same time guide and supervise data entry to ensure complete and accurate updates on the system;

The Department of Management of Non-Public Educational Institutions shall preside over and coordinate with relevant units to monitor and evaluate the implementation of extra teaching and learning, and advise and propose policy adjustments if there are any shortcomings.
