Decree 81/2021/ND-CP of the Government takes effect from October 15, 2021, which stipulates policies on tuition exemption and reduction for students, many majors reduce tuition fees by up to 70%.

Tuition-free majors

According to Article 15 of Decree 81/2021/ND-CP, majors exempting tuition fees for students include:

- Major in Ho Chi Minh Thought and Marxism-Leninism.

- Majors in Tuberculosis, Leprosy, Psychiatry, Forensic Psychiatry, Forensic Examination, Pathology at public training facilities according to State-ordered quotas.

In addition to the above majors, students in one of the following cases are also exempted from tuition fees when studying at public universities:

- Undergraduate students.

- Students studying at vocational and higher education institutions of ethnic minorities whose father or mother or both father and mother or grandparents (in case of living with grandparents) are from poor or near-poor households according to regulations of the Prime Minister.

- Ethnic minority students with very few people as prescribed in Clause 1, Article 2 of Decree No. 57/2017/ND-CP dated May 9, 2017 of the Government stipulating preferential admission policies and learning support for preschool children, pupils and students of ethnic minorities with very few people in areas with difficult or extremely difficult socio-economic conditions according to current regulations of competent authorities.

Majors with 70% tuition reduction

In addition to tuition-free majors, there are currently many majors that reduce tuition fees for students by up to 70%. Specifically, Clause 1, Article 16 of Decree 81 stipulates that majors with 70% tuition reduction for students include:

- Traditional and specific art majors in vocational education institutions, public and private universities with training in culture and arts include:

+ Folk theater musician

+ Traditional Hue musicians, Southern amateur music

+ Stage actors of opera, ca tru art, folk performing art, bai choi art, traditional musical instrument performance

- Majors in royal court music, tuong, cheo, cai luong, dance, circus.

- Some arduous, toxic, and dangerous occupations for vocational education according to the list of arduous, toxic, and dangerous occupations prescribed by the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs.

In addition to the above majors, the 70% tuition reduction also applies to ethnic minority students (in addition to very small ethnic minorities) in extremely disadvantaged villages/hamlets, communes in Region III of mountainous ethnic minority areas, and extremely disadvantaged communes in coastal and island areas.

Pilot scholarships for students in basic sciences

In the 2023 admissions season, many universities offer tuition support and scholarship programs to attract candidates to apply to basic science majors.

From the 2022-2023 academic year, Hanoi National University has piloted scholarships for students majoring in basic sciences at the University of Natural Sciences and the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.

Of which, the University of Natural Sciences has 9 supported majors, including: Mathematics Talent, Physics Talent, Chemistry Talent, Biology Talent, Natural Geography, Geology, Water Resources and Environment, Oceanography and Nuclear Engineering Technology. The University of Social Sciences and Humanities has 9 majors: Han Nom, History, Philosophy, Religious Studies, Political Science, Anthropology, Vietnamese Studies, Linguistics and Literature.

The University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Ho Chi Minh City National University) also supports 35% of tuition fees for students in 9 majors: Philosophy, Religious Studies, History, Geography, Information - Library, Archival Studies, Italian Language, Spanish Language, Russian Language.

Northern mountainous areas have heavy rain, some places have very heavy rain.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, from the afternoon of July 4 to the morning of July 5 (from 1:00 p.m. on July 4 to 7:00 a.m. on July 5), the North will have showers and thunderstorms, with some areas having moderate to heavy rain.
