Masan develops raw materials to support green energy production

Hanoi Masan High-Tech Materials introduced tungsten powder to help create new energy sources, supporting the development of electric vehicles at the Vietnam International Innovation Exhibition 2023, on October 28.

At the Vietnam International Innovation Exhibition 2023 in Hoa Lac, Masan High-Tech Materials introduced products serving green energy technology, including: Tungsten powder and Nyobolt.

Accordingly, Tungsten powder has been registered for global copyright, used in the production of fast and safe Li-ion batteries. This product is expected to help solve new energy problems and create a clean energy ecosystem, especially playing an important role in the electric vehicle industry.

The company also launched a tungsten powder blend product for industries using 3D printing technology with high stability and purity, especially suitable for the medical field. These are completely new generations of products, new solutions of Masan High-Tech Materials, meeting the needs of advanced technology companies and global industries.

Previously, this company also invested in Nyobolt to develop a battery line using high-tech tungsten materials with fast charging speed, safety and 10 times more capacity than conventional batteries to meet the world's trend of using clean fuel. Recently, Nyobolt launched an electric car model that can be fully charged in less than 6 minutes.

Through research projects and simulation experiments, Masan High-Tech Materials has developed and perfected a recycling process that allows for the recovery of all Lithium, Nickel, Copper, Cobalt, and Manganese from waste battery products. The company develops specific refining formulas to achieve higher tungsten recovery efficiency.

The company sets up closed-loop systems to reuse, recycle and renew materials, reducing dependence on raw materials and limiting waste generation. AI is integrated into the operating system, enabling faster response and optimizing the production process.

These outstanding technological achievements help Masan High-Tech Materials no longer depend on primary supply in mineral exploitation. This allows the company to promote a circular business model through mining waste right in urban areas, collecting and treating production waste and recycling scrap, turning end-of-life products into new sources of raw materials.

The company is launching a project to build Asia's first and largest tungsten recycling plant in Thai Nguyen, aiming to make Vietnam a leading center for tungsten and precious metals recycling in the region.

According to Mr. Craig Bradshaw, General Director of Masan High-Tech Materials, the company identifies innovation and sustainable green production as the focus of the company's development strategy, part of its global expansion strategy.

The company's success is based on research, highly skilled human resources, combined with the ability to develop products that meet the strict technical requirements of customers.

Masan High-Tech Materials – a member company of Masan Group is a high-tech tungsten producer with production facilities in Vietnam, Germany, Canada and China. The company owns two research and development centers in Germany and Vietnam and the Nui Phao polymetallic tungsten mine in Thai Nguyen.

By 2023, the company has nearly 100 new patents worldwide and another 50 patents in the application stage.

The company's high-tech material products have reached the global market. Specifically, 45% of the company's products are sold in Europe, 22% in North America, 18% are produced in China and supplied to this billion-people market; 15% are sold in the rest of the world.
