On February 21, Son La Provincial Police organized a ceremony to commend and reward the Special Task Force for successfully fighting and eliminating a complex drug trafficking ring across the Vietnam - Laos border.
A Senh's season at the investigation agency
Previously, at around 2:30 p.m. on February 19, the special task force of the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department (PC04) of Son La Provincial Police caught red-handed Mua A Senh (51 years old, residing in Muong Chum commune, Muong La district, Son La) illegally transporting drugs through Chom Khau village (Ngoc Chien commune, Muong La district).
The task force seized 2 heroin cakes, 1 mobile phone and many related exhibits on the spot.
The subjects in the line were arrested.
Notably, during the search of Senh’s house, the task force seized a K59 military gun, 15 bullets and 680 million VND. According to the police, Senh had a criminal record and was sentenced to 17 years in prison for illegal drug trafficking.
Expanding the investigation, the task force continued to arrest two other people in the ring, Phang A Pao (40 years old, residing in Ngoc Chien commune) and Giang A Pao (33 years old, residing in La Pan Tan commune, Mu Cang Chai district, Yen Bai), seizing an additional 800 million VND in money from illegal drug trafficking.
According to Son La Provincial Police, in this ring, in August 2023, the special task force arrested Trang A Do (20 years old), Trang A Tong (22 years old) and Trang A Su (21 years old), all residing in Moc Chau District (Son La), and seized 2 heroin cakes.
At the award ceremony, Colonel Tran Thanh Son, Deputy Director of Son La Provincial Police, praised the outstanding achievements of the Task Force and participating forces. At the same time, Colonel Son requested the units to consolidate documents and evidence to handle crimes in accordance with the law and continue to fight to expand the case.
