Hanoi wholesale bustle

When talking about Hanoi, among the countless existing figures, people cannot help but mention street vendors. Heavy burdens carrying all kinds of gifts and necessary goods have long become an indispensable part of the capital's life, penetrating every corner and blending into the breath of Hanoi's urban life.

Author Nguyen Khanh Vu Khoa with the photo series "Ao Xao Ban Boi Ha Noi" captures the bustling, rustic, familiar but very unique images of everyday life in Hanoi. The photo series was submitted by the author to the Photo and Video Contest Happy Vietnam - Happy Vietnam, organized by the Ministry of Information and Communications.

Few people know when street vendors first appeared. It is only that when talking about the life of this thousand-year-old city, people cannot help but mention street vendors, as a unique beauty of Hanoi culture.

With shoulder poles on their shoulders, street vendors wander the streets selling all kinds of goods that buyers need.

Without having to step out onto the street, urban residents can still buy enough food for their families' daily needs from street vendors.

Many people believe that street vendors are an indispensable part of urban life.

Hanoi street vendors are beautiful according to the seasons. When the summer days have passed into autumn and until the beginning of winter, many people like to see flower vendors, on which float the last red lotus flowers of the season, but the green lotus buds seem to cling to the harsh sunlight, the chrysanthemums are more yellow than the sunlight. Deeper into autumn, Hanoians will see the streets with the green of green rice, the pink of roses...

And certainly, in the memories, in the souls of Hanoi children, the image of the street vendor has been deeply imprinted, old and peaceful, like a deep melody in an old love song, still lingering after a thousand years... So there are people who go far away, lying awake at midnight remembering the "Khuc o..." of their childhood, and tears well up in their eyes in their homesick dreams. There are people who go far away, one day returning to the city, meeting the flower vendor in the morning is like meeting an old friend, and their hearts are filled with tears forever.
