Many tourists, especially photographers and snow lovers, are eager to conquer Fansipan peak (Sa Pa) to hunt for beautiful moments in the white snow space.

A strong cold front swept into the North, causing severe cold in the region. In particular, snow and ice fell in the high mountainous areas of the North, including Fansipan.

As the highest mountain in Indochina, Fansipan peak, with an altitude of over 3,000m, is often the first place in Vietnam to receive snow.

Somewhat different from Europe, which is famous for its ski resorts and snow-covered villages, the snow at Fansipan has a unique beauty, bearing the mark of Vietnamese culture.

Because of the high humidity in the air, snow in Vietnam can only last for a short period of time, usually lasting only a few days during extremely cold spells.

It is a romantic, mysterious and elusive beauty, reserved only for the lucky and well-prepared traveler.

One of the interesting things about Fansipan is the distinct difference in weather between the top and the foot of the mountain.

At the top, temperatures can drop below 0°C and snow covers the area, while at the foot of the mountain, the air is warmer with temperatures around 7 - 10°C, creating ideal conditions for visitors to explore the Northwestern villages.

This weekend, on February 8-9, at Ban May in Sun World Fansipan tourist area, the Gau Tao festival of the Mong people will take place.

This is a festival imbued with traditional culture, with rituals of offering thanks to heaven and earth and praying to the gods for health, prosperity, and a bountiful harvest.

Visitors will have the opportunity to witness the Mo worshiping ceremonies, the typical pole-raising ceremony, and unique customs such as wife-catching of the Mong people in Sa Pa.

Besides, you can also enjoy delicious specialties, listen to the Khen dance and love songs, immerse yourself in the joyful atmosphere with folk games such as playing Yen, throwing Pao or gathering around the campfire.

With the opportunity to conquer the roof of Indochina in the white snow season, immerse yourself in the spring atmosphere at the sacred peak and participate in the bustling Northwest ethnic festival, Fansipan is certainly the most interesting destination in the North during this occasion and throughout the spring travel season that has just begun.
