(CLO) On February 13, in Hanoi, the People's Army Newspaper (QĐND) held a press meeting to introduce the journalism contest about the glorious Party and great Uncle Ho with the theme "Steadfast under the Party's flag". The contest was launched and directed by the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, and the QĐND Newspaper was the organizing agency. Major General Doan Xuan Bo, Editor-in-Chief of the QĐND Newspaper and Head of the Organizing Committee chaired the meeting.
The contest is a practical activity, a broad political activity on the occasion of the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930 - February 3, 2025), welcoming party congresses at all levels, towards the 14th National Congress of the Party, and celebrating major national holidays in 2025.

Chairing the meeting, Major General Doan Xuan Bo, Editor-in-Chief of the People's Army Newspaper, said that the Newspaper had organized many contests, but this contest was very special because it was initiated and directed by the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army Newspaper to organize. In a short time, the Organizing Committee received the task and held a meeting to discuss, set out the rules and spread the contest, hoping to receive the attention of officers and soldiers of the Vietnam People's Army; journalists, informants, collaborators, readers inside and outside the Army; overseas Vietnamese; and foreigners living and working in Vietnam.
The head of the Organizing Committee of the Contest emphasized that the Contest aims to widely propagate to cadres, party members, soldiers and people of all walks of life about the glorious history of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the great contributions of President Ho Chi Minh; affirm the position, role, prestige, leadership capacity, governance and fighting strength of the Party; arouse and foster the trust and pride of cadres, soldiers and people in the Party and the State.
Major General Doan Xuan Bo, Editor-in-Chief of the People's Army Newspaper, Head of the Organizing Committee of the Contest, chaired the meeting and shared about the meaning of the contest and the orientation of the information content.
Through the Contest, it contributes to strengthening the strength of great national unity, creating social consensus on the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws; encouraging and motivating our cadres, party members and people to overcome all difficulties and challenges, seize opportunities and chances, successfully implement the Resolution of the Party Congresses at all levels for the 2020-2025 term, the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress; successfully organize the Party Congresses at all levels towards the 12th Military Party Congress, the 14th National Party Congress, bringing the country into a new era - the era of the Vietnamese nation's rise.

Major General Doan Xuan Bo also shared that for many years, the People's Army Newspaper has been persistent and steadfast in its column on protecting the Party's ideological foundation and considers it the spearhead and central focus of the Newspaper. The contest is an opportunity to continue to receive more research articles, opinions and suggestions from writers throughout the Party and the entire population, with the sole purpose of making our Party stronger and stronger, and the country more and more developed...
The Organizing Committee provides detailed information about the rules, regulations, and requirements of the contest. Colonel Nguyen Hong Hai, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the People's Army Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Contest's Standing Committee, informed and clarified some specific contents: The contest accepts a variety of types of journalism (political commentary, reportage, reflection, press photos, multimedia journalism such as longform, infographic, podcast, video clips). Contest entries must ensure creativity, have a high spread and practical value. The submission period is from February 5, 2025 to November 30, 2025 (calculated by the time of sending the Email or by the postmark on the envelope).
Eligible entries will be published in the People's Army Newspaper. The Organizing Committee is expected to judge and award the Contest in December 2025.
At the meeting, journalist Nguyen Duc Loi, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association emphasized: “I highly appreciate the organization of this contest. The People's Army Newspaper has been very creative in its professional activities, as well as in organizing journalism contests. We believe that the contest will be a great success. The Vietnam Journalists Association will provide guidance to all levels of the association and its members to participate in this contest.”

Entries must fall into one of the following categories: Political commentary; reflection; reportage; photojournalism; multimedia journalism (Longform, Infographic, Podcast, video clip).
The Organizing Committee will award 5 A prizes (35 million VND/prize), 10 B prizes (25 million VND/prize), 25 C prizes (20 million VND/prize), 25 Encouragement prizes (5 million VND/prize) and 10 certificates of merit to 10 groups with outstanding achievements, each group will receive 2 million VND. In addition, the Organizing Committee will consider awarding a Special Prize.
Each author can submit an unlimited number of entries. Entries must be sent by post to the address: People's Army Newspaper, No. 7 Phan Dinh Phung, Hanoi. The entry and envelope must clearly state: "Entry to the Journalism Contest on the Glorious Party, Great Uncle Ho with the theme "Steadfast Steps Under the Party Flag" in 2025"; or sent to the email address: [email protected]
For the categories of press photos and multimedia press works (Longform, Infographic, Podcast, video clips), entries should be sent to the email address: [email protected]; or the Editorial Department of Party Affairs, Political Affairs, People's Army Newspaper, No. 7 Phan Dinh Phung, Hanoi. Entries must ensure that they do not violate the Press Law, Intellectual Property Law, and have no copyright disputes.
The Organizing Committee does not accept works that have been published in the media. Information about the author must clearly state the full name, pen name (if any), address, occupation, contact phone number, and if it is a group of authors, the full name of each person must be clearly stated. The Organizing Committee does not return the author's manuscript.
