On the afternoon of January 31, Lieutenant Colonel Truong Quoc Vuong, captain of the Traffic Police Team - Vinh Linh District Police (Quang Tri) - said that he had received an initial report that two officers of the team on patrol had assisted a woman whose motorbike had broken down and had to walk on the road.

Accordingly, since the morning of the same day, social networks in Quang Tri have been spreading "dizzily" about the story of two traffic police officers on patrol assisting a woman whose motorbike broke down and had to walk on the road to find a place to fix it so she could continue her journey to celebrate Tet.

Many people think this is a beautiful story that warms people's hearts at the beginning of the new year, so its influence is even greater.

Lieutenant Colonel Vuong confirmed that the above incident took place in Vinh Linh district on the same morning.

At that time, two officers of the Vinh Linh Traffic Police - Order Team, Senior Lieutenant Nguyen Khac Dung and Captain Nguyen Quang Viet, were on patrol when they discovered a woman driving a motorbike with license plate 74L1-247.xx on National Highway 1 in the North - South direction, more than 1km from Hien Luong Bridge.

Knowing that the woman's car had an accident, the traffic police stopped the car to assist. "We checked that the gas was full and the battery was new, but it wouldn't start. The plan to find a mechanic was immediately "finalized". But it was Tet, so the repair shops around the area might all be closed," Lieutenant Colonel Vuong said.

Lieutenant Dung and Captain Viet put the motorbike in the back of the patrol car, then drove the motorbike to a shop near Hien Luong bridge to ask for help checking it.

However, when they arrived, the shop was not open yet. After that, the two continued to drive the broken motorbike back towards Cua Tung town. There was a repair shop owned by an acquaintance of Lieutenant Dung that would repair motorbikes.

The car was determined to have a broken belt. Both traffic police officers handed over the car and the person to the shop owner, then continued their patrol duty.

Ms. Ho Thi Minh Hien, resident of Vinh Long commune (Vinh Linh), said she was the owner of the broken-down vehicle. "While I was visiting my schoolmates to wish them a happy new year, my vehicle broke down in the middle of the road. I had to walk a long distance and luckily two traffic police officers stopped to help me. This was a great stroke of luck for me at the beginning of the year," Ms. Hien said.

The action of two Vinh Linh traffic police officers was photographed by local people and posted on social media. In less than an hour, a series of fanpages spread this beautiful image.

Many comments below said that the actions of the two traffic police officers warmed people's hearts on the first day of the year.

"Warm and friendly actions. This is the People's Police", one person commented.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Vuong, until the story spread on social media, both traffic police officers still did not know the name of the woman who was supported.

"But this is not too important. Just being able to help people in need is the joy of the traffic police at the beginning of the year," said Lieutenant Colonel Vuong.
