Sharing with reporters, many National Assembly deputies said that this session the National Assembly will handle a huge amount of work, with many important contents in the fields of legislation, supreme supervision and deciding on important issues of the country. This session has been very carefully prepared in terms of both organization and work content.
Prepare carefully
At the 6th Session, the National Assembly will consider and approve 9 draft laws and give opinions on 8 other draft laws. Many draft laws submitted to the National Assembly at this session are extremely important bills, which are the key legislative tasks of the 15th National Assembly term, such as: the draft Land Law (amended); the draft Real Estate Business Law (amended); the draft Housing Law (amended)... The National Assembly will consider and approve the draft Resolution on piloting a number of mechanisms and policies to remove obstacles stipulated in a number of laws related to investment in the construction of road traffic works.

The National Assembly considers and decides on socio-economic issues, such as assessing the results of the implementation of the socio-economic development plan and the state budget for 2023 and considering and deciding on the socio-economic development plan, state budget estimates, and central budget allocation plan for 2024; reviewing mid-term assessment reports: results of the implementation of the 5-year plans for the period 2021 - 2025 on socio-economic development, economic restructuring, medium-term public investment, national finance, and borrowing and repayment of public debt.
The contents expected to be considered and approved by the National Assembly at this session will contribute to removing obstacles and difficulties in legal regulations, helping to unblock resources for socio-economic development, in order to realize the growth targets of the entire term as well as the goals set for 2030, with a vision to 2045.
To ensure the success of the session and the quality of the National Assembly's decisions, the National Assembly's agencies have made every effort, worked urgently and at full capacity to prepare documents for the contents of the session's agenda. The Committees have fully absorbed the opinions of National Assembly deputies, voters, and people, and coordinated with relevant agencies to complete the draft law with the best quality to submit to the National Assembly for consideration and decision at this session.
Many delegates expressed their confidence and expectation that the decisions of the National Assembly at this session are correct and timely; demonstrating the intelligence, enthusiasm and responsibility of the National Assembly delegates towards the country, voters and people nationwide.
Delegate Nguyen Thanh Cam (Tien Giang) said that the content of the session was thoroughly and carefully prepared by the National Assembly Standing Committee, the Ethnic Council, the agencies of the National Assembly, the agencies under the National Assembly Standing Committee, the National Assembly delegations, and relevant agencies. Many important contents were commented on by the National Assembly Standing Committee more than once, the Ethnic Council conducted preliminary and official examinations before the session, so it is certain that the Reports, Documents of draft laws, draft Resolutions, etc., when they are presented at the 6th session, will have been best prepared.
The National Assembly delegates have prepared very carefully. Each delegate has chosen the issues that they or the majority of voters are most interested in, especially national and people's livelihood issues and important issues of the country to discuss in the Group and in the Hall during this session.
“With a large amount of content, I hope that the discussion sessions will continue to be arranged with reasonable time to create the best conditions for National Assembly deputies to thoroughly study the content before participating in specific sessions,” said delegate Nguyen Thanh Cam.
Agreeing with the opinion, delegate Nguyen Thi Viet Nga (Hai Duong) said that one of the innovations of this 6th Session is that the Government, Government agencies and National Assembly agencies have been very active and proactive in sending documents to National Assembly deputies early. Thereby, National Assembly deputies will have more time to study the documents - this contributes significantly to the quality of the sessions in particular and the Session in general.
In addition, the 6th Session is still organized into two concentrated sessions, with a break between the two sessions so that the agencies of the National Assembly and the Government have time to synthesize, absorb and explain the issues that the National Assembly deputies have opinions on. I believe that this flexibility contributes to improving the quality of the National Assembly's activities.
According to the delegates, to prepare for the 6th Session, the National Assembly and the Government have made efforts to prepare early and remotely. For the draft laws submitted to the National Assembly for the first time, ministries, branches and agencies of the National Assembly have organized many seminars and discussions to seek opinions from experts, scientists and National Assembly delegates.
Meet people's expectations
Delegates said that at the 5th Session, for the first time, the National Assembly discussed in the hall the results of monitoring the settlement of voters' petitions. At the 6th Session, the National Assembly continued to spend time discussing in the hall the results of monitoring the settlement of voters' petitions sent to the 5th Session of the 15th National Assembly and the results of receiving citizens, handling petitions and resolving citizens' complaints and denunciations in 2023.
During the session, voters and people also paid special attention to and followed the vote of confidence for those holding positions elected or approved by the National Assembly. This contributed to enhancing the effectiveness of supervision, ensuring that the National Assembly better performed its responsibilities as the highest State power agency, the representative body of the people, and on behalf of the people, supervised those holding positions elected or approved by the National Assembly in performing their assigned duties and tasks.
Regarding this content, delegate Nguyen Thi Viet Nga (Hai Duong) said that the 6th Session will be an important activity of the National Assembly to evaluate the prestige and capacity of those elected or approved by the National Assembly. Half of the term has passed, this is the time to summarize what has been done and what has not been done in the sectors and fields, in which the role of "sector commanders" is extremely important. The delegate emphasized that the results of the vote of confidence have many meanings, especially the accurate, fair and objective assessment of the National Assembly delegates for those who are voted on for their capacity and qualities in performing assigned tasks.
In addition, the results of the vote of confidence are the recognition and encouragement of the National Assembly deputies for the efforts of those voted for, on that basis, frankly reviewing the existing problems in specific sectors and fields to promptly have solutions to overcome them.
“Not only National Assembly deputies, but also many voters and people are very interested in the vote of confidence at this session. Questioning activities are always a "hot" and "weighty" activity in the parliament,” affirmed delegate Nguyen Thi Viet Nga.
National Assembly Delegate of Tien Giang Province Nguyen Thanh Cam is particularly interested in social issues such as socio-economic development plans, labor, employment, social protection, family, policies for people with revolutionary contributions, and draft laws that are attracting much attention from voters such as the draft Law on Social Insurance (amended), the Law on Citizen Identification (amended), the Law on Housing (amended)... From the perspective of representing voters, the delegate is interested in issues of new rural construction, healthcare, the draft Law on Land (amended), the draft Law on Road Traffic Safety and Order...
Delegates expressed their expectations and confidence that the 6th Session will be of high quality and will meet the trust and expectations of voters and people. The Session will be a forum for important issues to be discussed and solutions sought; "hot" issues and issues that cause social outrage will be "dissected" and questioned to reach a final solution to the problems.
