Lien Viet Post Bank ( LPBank ) has just sharply reduced deposit interest rates for terms of 6 months or more. This is the first time in June that LPBank has reduced deposit interest rates for terms of over 5 months. The reduction in some terms is even larger than some banks that have reduced interest rates 3-4 times in the past month.
According to the online interest rate table from June 26, the term of 6-11 months has dropped sharply from 7.2% to only 6.4%/year. The interest rate of 12-month term has dropped sharply from 7.3% to only 6.6%/year.
Meanwhile, deposit terms from 13-16 months are also listed at only 6.9%/year. Deposit terms from 18 months and above have also returned to 7.4%/year after decreasing by 0.2 percentage points. This is also the term with the highest mobilization interest rate at the present time of LPBank.
Construction Bank ( CBBank ) announced a new deposit interest rate schedule on the first day of the week. This is also the first time this “zero-dong” bank has reduced deposit interest rates since the beginning of June.
Accordingly, the online deposit interest rate for a 6-month term has decreased to 7.3%/year from 7.85%/year.
Interest rates for 7-11 month deposits also dropped sharply from 7.95% to 7.4% per year.
12-month deposit interest rate reduced from 8.15% to only 7.6%/year from today.
CBBank applies a new interest rate of 7.7%/year for terms of 13 months or more starting today, down from 8.25%/year yesterday.
Ho Chi Minh City Development Bank ( HDBank ) has reduced interest rates for some fixed terms. Online deposit interest rates for terms from 1-5 months have been reduced from 4.75% to 4.25%/year since the beginning of this week.
Interest rates for 6-month deposits decreased from 7.5% to 7.3% per year, while those for 7-11 month deposits remained at the old level of 6.9% per year.
The 12-13 month term also decreased by 0.2 percentage points to 7.3%/year. Long terms are still kept unchanged by HDBank, including 15-month term, interest rate 7%/year, 18-month term 7.1%/year, 24-36 month term 6.9%/year.
Notably, this is the fourth time since the beginning of June that HDBank has reduced deposit interest rates.
The market also recorded that International Bank ( VIB ) continued to adjust deposit interest rates. VIB is also one of the few banks that reduced interest rates for the fourth time since the beginning of June.
Accordingly, VIB's online deposit interest rates for 6-11 month terms were simultaneously reduced by 0.3 percentage points, to 6.8%/year.
Interest rates for deposits with terms of 15 months or more were reduced by VIB by 0.2 percentage points, all at 7%/year.
Since the beginning of June, the market has recorded more than 20 banks reducing deposit interest rates, including: Agribank, Vietcombank, BacA Bank, NamA Bank, PVCombank, TPBank, BaoViet Bank, GPBank, BIDV, Sacombank, VIB, HDBank, NCB, OCB, BVBank, VPBank, SCB, VietA Bank, TPBank, SHB, HDBank, KienLongBank, MB, ABBank, CBBank, LPBank, and Saigonbank.
Of which, BIDV, VietinBank, VPBank, BaoViet Bank, Saigonbank, VietA Bank, OCB, SCB, GPBank are the banks that have reduced interest rates twice since the beginning of the month.
TPBank alone reduced interest rates three times in June, while VIB, NCB and HDBank adjusted them four times.
