Initial information is known, fishing boat BD 30093 TS captained by Mr. Dang Van Teo, born in 1977, permanent residence: Cat Tien, Phu Cat, Binh Dinh, with 05 fishermen departed from Ben Da Port, Vung Tau City, Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province on June 5, 2023.
At around 02:00 on June 7, while fishing in the sea about 40 nautical miles east of Con Dao, the vessel was sunk by a cargo ship with an unknown registration number. Captain Dang Van Teo promptly turned on the identification device on the fishing vessel BD 30093 TS and discovered that the vessel had the letters BAR - LLI or PAR - LLI displayed on the fishing vessel identification device.
At around 7:00 a.m. the same day (June 7), fisherman Dang Van Teo on fishing boat BD 30093 TS was rescued by a Tien Giang fishing boat. At 8:00 a.m. the same day (June 7), the other 5 fishermen were rescued by fishing boat BD 31159 TS.
At around 9:00 a.m. the same day (June 7), all 6 fishermen in distress were transferred to fishing boat BD 10922 TS captained by Mr. Nguyen Van Dong, born in 1985, permanent residence: Nhon Ly, Quy Nhon, Binh Dinh, and brought to shore to be handed over to the authorities according to regulations.
At 5:00 p.m. on the same day, June 7, fishing boat BD 10922 TS docked at Ben Dam port, Con Dao district, handing over 6 fishermen on fishing boat BD 30093 TS that had an accident at sea to the Con Dao Border Guard Station, Ba Ria - Vung Tau Border Guard according to regulations.
Immediately after receiving the victims, Con Dao Border Guard Station, Ba Ria - Vung Tau Border Guard organized visits, encouraged, sent medical staff to conduct initial medical examinations for the 6 fishermen in distress, took care of their health and provided food and accommodation for the fishermen.
Currently, Con Dao Border Guard Station, Ba Ria - Vung Tau Border Guard is continuing to take statements from crew members on fishing boat BD 30093 TS to verify and clarify the incident.
