Unable to hide her emotions when talking to a VNA reporter in Laos, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Huong, Principal of the Lao-Vietnamese bilingual school Nguyen Du, affirmed that General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong is a vivid example of living, studying and following Uncle Ho's teachings.
According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Huong, the shining moral example of President Ho Chi Minh was enlightened by his exemplary student, making the history of the nation more glorious.
General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong's pioneering and resolute fight against corruption and negativity has contributed significantly to promoting socio-economic development, maintaining political stability, strengthening national defense, security and foreign affairs, especially helping to regain and firmly consolidate people's trust in the Party and State.
She stressed that teachers and students of the school vow to study and follow the moral example of the respected leader.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Huong also shared her memories and feelings when meeting General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong during the visits of high-ranking Vietnamese delegations to Laos.
She said that during those visits, the leaders of the Vietnamese Party and State always showed their concern for overseas Vietnamese by visiting and encouraging them, and she personally had the honor of attending a meeting with General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and overseas Vietnamese at the Vietnamese Embassy in Laos.
She recalled the image of a kind, approachable leader with silver hair, tolerant eyes and a friendly smile that left her with infinite respect.
Assessing the role of the General Secretary in Vietnam-Laos relations, Ms. Huong said that the relationship between the two countries was nurtured from the long-standing tradition of friendship between the two peoples and passed down through many generations of leaders. This is a process that has been persistently nurtured and built with the sweat and blood of many generations.
As a student of President Ho Chi Minh, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong always attaches importance to and gives top priority to the special relationship between Vietnam and Laos.
With the vision and leadership of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, Laos and Vietnam vow to work together to bring this relationship to new heights, in accordance with the wishes and teachings of the leaders of the two countries, to keep the relationship between Vietnam and Laos forever green and sustainable.
Mr. Le Van Mui, Chairman of the Vietnamese Association in Vientiane, expressed his deep condolences to General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.
Mr. Mui confided that he had met the General Secretary 6-7 times and always had a feeling of closeness and warmth with his sincere advice, especially advice on how to develop the Vietnam-Laos friendship to become increasingly stronger.
He said that when the community talks about "Uncle General Secretary", they all respect and feel close to him. In recent days, hearing news about the General Secretary's health, the Vietnamese people in Vientiane have been concerned, asking each other questions, and the elderly have come to pagodas to pray for "the General Secretary's good health so that he can continue to serve the Fatherland and help the country continue to develop."
Mr. Hoang Van Quan, Vice President of the Vietnam Business Association in Laos, said he was very sad to receive the news of the General Secretary's passing.
He shared that although he has lived in Laos for more than 20 years, every time he has the opportunity to return to Vietnam, he sees the countryside changing dramatically, the infrastructure becoming more and more modern, and the lives of people from urban to rural areas being improved. That is thanks to the leadership of the General Secretary.
As the Party leader, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong has done many things for the people, such as fighting corruption, helping the government apparatus become cleaner and stronger; helping the country overcome many difficulties, creating a good life for people from urban to rural areas.
Mr. Hoang Van Quan recalled the memories of meeting General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong during his visit to Laos, presenting computers to the Lao National University. He was very impressed with the simple personality, kind words, and valuable lessons that General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong shared.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Huyen, an overseas Vietnamese in Laos, affirmed that Vietnam's current achievements cannot be achieved without the imprint of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.
Ms. Huyen feels that General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong is truly a great grandfather and father that overseas Vietnamese always trust and are proud of.
In particular, in recent years, as Head of the Central Steering Committee on anti-corruption and anti-negativity, with great political determination, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong has directed resolutely, persistently, synchronously, comprehensively, and methodically, creating a breakthrough, linking anti-corruption and anti-negativity with Party building and rectification and the political system.
Many ideas, viewpoints, guiding principles, and principles of action in preventing and combating corruption and negativity initiated and directed by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong have been effective and confirmed in practice, bringing many valuable lessons, both theoretically and practically.
Ms. Huyen confided that during the working process of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, she was extremely impressed by the image of the leader with white hair and a gentle and extremely pure smile.
She said that overseas Vietnamese living and working in Laos receive many advantages. Many high-ranking delegations of Vietnamese leaders visiting Laos spend time meeting the community and listening to their aspirations, and through this, continue to make recommendations and proposals to the host country to create more favorable conditions for overseas Vietnamese in Laos.
From the bottom of her heart, Ms. Huyen expressed her utmost gratitude and deep thanks to the Party, State and Government of Vietnam, especially General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.
