The visit is of great significance, affirming the foreign policy of the 13th National Party Congress, which gives high priority to the relationship of "good neighborliness, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation, long-term sustainability" with Cambodia, demonstrating the trust and closeness between the two countries' senior leaders as well as between the Chairman of the Vietnamese National Assembly and the Cambodian senior leaders.
At the Cambodian National Assembly Headquarters, there were many representatives of the leaders of the National Assembly agencies and the National Assembly members of the neighboring country. Presiding over the solemn welcoming ceremony for National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and the high-ranking delegation of the Party and State of Vietnam, Cambodian National Assembly Chairman Samdech Khuon Sudary respectfully invited the Chairman of our National Assembly to review the Guard of Honor. Immediately after that, the two National Assembly leaders and members officially held talks, with many important contents.
On the first day of their visit, the two countries' guests attended the inauguration ceremony of the Cambodian National Assembly Administrative Building - a gift from the Communist Party of Vietnam, the State and the people of Vietnam. This is a symbolic project of the traditional solidarity and friendship between Vietnam and Cambodia, presented by the Party, State and people of Vietnam to the Party, State and people of Cambodia during the State visit to the Kingdom of Cambodia by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong in July 2017 and started construction in December 2021.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, the President of the Cambodian National Assembly expressed her deepest gratitude to the Party, State and people of Vietnam for their support and aid for the construction of this very meaningful project. She said that this new administrative building complements and meets the practical needs of the Cambodian National Assembly, contributing to the need for governance reform, human resource development, digital parliament and improving the operational efficiency of the Cambodian National Assembly in the years to come.
Samdech Techo Hun Sen and the leaders of the Kingdom of Cambodia warmly welcomed and highly appreciated the significance of the first State visit to Cambodia in the new position of National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man; affirmed that the visit of the National Assembly Chairman contributed to further strengthening the friendly and close relations between the two countries.
Joining the working delegation and talking to reporters, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc said that Vietnamese enterprises investing in Cambodia have recently achieved many very positive results. Import and export turnover between the two sides is increasing. The neighboring country's market is very potential, with products such as cashew nuts, rubber, minerals, etc.
The Cambodian government has also implemented tax mechanism issues, including corporate income tax retention, or mechanisms to facilitate housing construction for workers in factories and industrial parks... Regarding many specific contents, the Deputy Prime Minister said that the two governments continue to discuss and work to reach consensus and create conditions for Vietnamese enterprises to invest in Cambodia.
Assessing the results of the working trip, according to Chairman of the National Assembly's Foreign Affairs Committee Vu Hai Ha, in all high-level meetings between the two sides, the leaders of the neighboring countries highly appreciated Vietnam's development. The good news is that in recent times, the trade turnover between the two countries has achieved remarkable growth. Vietnam will be Cambodia's third largest trading partner, after China and the United States. That shows that for Cambodia, the neighboring countries consider Vietnam a very important market with over one hundred million people, with great potential for cooperation.
The leaders of the two countries especially emphasized the significance and historical value of the Vietnam-Cambodia relationship and agreed on the need to promote innovation and diversify forms of propaganda and education so that the people of the two countries, especially the young generation, can understand and correctly perceive the traditional friendship, solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, two countries and peoples, and resolutely not let hostile forces distort and divide the Vietnam-Cambodia friendship.
In the beautiful country of Cambodia, international delegates and tourists from other countries can easily see the image of graceful young women dancing apsaras in the peaceful ancient temples along the Mekong River. According to legend, apsaras are the fairies of clouds and water in folk tales. Cambodian people worship apsaras as the Goddess of Prosperity.
The symbols of the apsara dance, the dove of peace and the Romdoul flower, which is honored as the national flower of the Kingdom of Cambodia, were impressively stylized on billboards, posters and in the large auditorium of the international conference that attracted the participation of hundreds of delegates from political parties from 49 Asian countries, other continents and regional and international organizations...
In recent days, the Chairman of the National Assembly of Vietnam has made important speeches affirming Vietnam's consistent stance in supporting the efforts of international and regional organizations in creating an environment of peace, security and stability in the region.
Yesterday morning, the 11th Conference of the International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace (IPTP 11) took place at a large luxury hotel on the banks of the Mekong River. With that spirit, the National Assembly Chairman expressed his belief that the Parliament and parliamentarians will play an active role and have an important voice in promoting the rule of law, building trust and mutual respect, and together finding sustainable peaceful solutions to regional disputes as well as urgent global challenges today.
