This spring crop, Kien Xuong district planted over 11,000 hectares, of which 100% of the cultivated area was short-term rice varieties, high-yield rice varieties accounted for nearly 52%, high-quality rice varieties accounted for over 48%. Despite many difficulties in weather and pest situation, spring rice basically developed better than recent crops.

Currently, the rice is in the ripening stage. By mobilizing nearly 200 harvesters, as of June 10, the whole district has harvested about 5,000 hectares of spring rice. Currently, the whole district has 20 drying racks that can dry 10% of spring rice production. According to the plan, the whole district strives to basically complete the spring rice harvest before June 20.

During the inspection, to avoid damage due to unusual weather developments, the Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department requested Kien Xuong district to direct localities to mobilize human resources and machinery, take advantage of favorable weather to harvest spring rice, and prevent damage caused by unfavorable weather that may occur in the coming days. Mobilize forces to clear the flow of drainage canals, avoiding flooding in unharvested rice areas. In addition, it is necessary to step up propaganda work so that people can prepare well for land preparation, field sanitation, and be ready to enter this year's winter-spring rice production according to the set schedule.
