Encourage schools to build sample question banks for the 10th grade exam.

At the conference on secondary school education organized by the Hanoi Department of Education and Training on September 14, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training Pham Quoc Toan emphasized that in the 2024-2025 school year, the 2018 General Education Program will be implemented for all levels, in which it will be the first year that 9th grade students study and take exams according to the new Program.

On August 28, the Department of Education and Training sent a notice to educational institutions in the city about the format structure and sample questions for the 10th grade entrance exam. The early issuance of the format structure and sample questions for the 10th grade entrance exam subjects helps teachers have clear and specific directions to implement teaching and review plans. However, how to improve the quality of teaching, help students feel secure, confident, and meet the requirements of the exam is still a concern of secondary school teachers.

Attending the conference, hundreds of key teachers of secondary schools in the city listened to representatives of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, experts and subject specialists of the Department analyze exam results data; at the same time, they were instructed on how to build a matrix of questions and illustrative questions to organize for students to practice and get acquainted during the learning process...

Ms. Tran Thanh Mai - a literature teacher at Chu Van An Secondary School (Thanh Tri District) shared that from the format structure and sample questions of the 10th grade entrance exam subjects just announced by the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, she and her colleagues will make efforts to concretize them by developing appropriate teaching plans, tests and assessments. Thereby, in order to help students meet the requirements of the new program, which is to form qualities and abilities; in which the most important concern is that the literature test and assessment questions will use texts and materials other than textbooks.

“The sample exam published by the Department of Education and Training has a level of knowledge differentiation appropriate to students' perception. We will develop a detailed teaching plan; help students get familiar with the exam format right from the beginning of the school year, to study and review effectively; from there, the results of the 10th grade exam will be improved..." - Ms. Dao Thi Hoa, teacher at Cam Thuong Secondary School, Ba Vi district said.

In order to effectively implement the teaching and review work for 9th grade students according to the 2018 General Education Program, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training encourages the Departments of Education and Training and schools to develop common illustrative questions to share with each other during the review, testing and evaluation process. Illustrative questions can be built according to the school year roadmap and divided into short stages (by month or by semester) to closely follow the basic content of each subject.
